E-Brake T-Case Mount
Just working on the e-brake mount for the transfer case. I should hopefully have a prototype worked out in the next couple of weeks. If i tore the drive shaft out and parked the truck for a week or two this may be easier....but i need to drive this truck since my 2wd is full of mulch right now.

Haha, Lets hope, its a very tight fit under there.
from some cardbaord templates it seems like it will clear, but i won't actually know till i have a working prototype ready to bolt on.

I does look good, but how are you having it fab'd? Are you doing it yourself, or having a shop do it? I can't imagine paying someone to build it would be much cheaper than buying a Sky kit.

Yea, sometimes it's just easier to snap a pic of the screen rather then screen capture, especially since resolution doesn't matter.
About the metal,
I may have it water jet cut, and bent. All depends if my buddy can do it or not. I could always use the plasma to cut it out. It is two pieces so I can get all the bolts in and out. I'm still developing it to remedy a few issues with the way it mounts. The caliper mount will be bent channel for strength. If I had to pay for it I'm figuring it would cost about $100. Worth it to me since I have talked to folks with the sky ebrake and it's difficult to make it work consistantly and if you burn up the pads, you have to but the whole caliper mechanism.

About a month ago I responded to a thread on pirate4x4 started by Justice Racing and Performance & Black Hat Fab requesting project vehicles that need help realizing the rigs build plans. I submitted a short summary of my rig and plans to them and a few weeks ago i got a chance to meet with them. While I have a good amount of mechanical knowledge( I think) , I realize it would be very important to get assistance for some heavy lifting during my build.
I had a chance to meet up with the guys from the shop, which is about 40miles from me in Frederick to discuss my future plans for the rig. Jim and Josh are very knowledgeable and fantastic guys. We discussed the 1kd-ftv engine swap and SAS 3Link ideas as well as armor for the beast. My primary thought with this partnership was that I would use their services to gain knowledge and ideas for the above mentioned and help with the suspension and engine install. Josh has done many SAS's and even a 1kz swap into the same chassis i have.
When discussing the possibilities of a diesel in my rig they didn't sway my original idea of installing the newer more complicated 1KD lump into my rig. We also made a plan in which order things need to get done so that the build goes smother, for instance, installing the engine before the SAS(oh, and Josh has an SFA he is going to sell me for the build). I was going to SAS the rig while i was waiting for the half-cut delivery to my house.
After a recent conversation with Justice Racing and Performance & Black Hat Fab i decided that it would be easier on me to have the half-cut delivered to their shop. This would afford me the opportunity to have them assist in the mounting of the engine once i brought my Runner up to them. This is crucial because the engine will need to be installed and removed multiple times before final placement. Not to mention freshening up the engine under Jim Justice's engine knowledge.
Once the mill and the SAS are installed, the rig will be towed back to my house for the engine hook up, the very tedious part. This will help me save some bucks instead of paying them to figure it all out. And I will still get to call on them for help. Not that i ever planned on using any assistance from a shop for these duties, but i have little experience with engine swaps and have never done a linked SAS. Suspension to me is a safety issue, and i feel more comfortable having an experienced shop assist me.
The downfall to this is that the rig will be down for a bit longer then i originally planned, but will hopefully go smoother in the end. So this just means that while the rig is under the knife for a few months i will be starting another build thread with my son on his 89' 4Runner, he has an account here and will hopefully get a build thread going soon.
In the meantime i will continue to work on the eBrake, and am focusing efforts on some rock-sliders. Still designing the sliders, but i do have some steel cut already to get started.
I'll get some pics up when i have something to show.
