My main concern is the compressor is sitting in the trunk. While it isn't air tight it doesn't allow for much air movement, meaning heat could be an issue.
With the box open the head heated up to 140f with an ambient interior box temperature of 93f.
So, I drained the tank and cycled it again, this time with the lid and carpet pulled over as you would want if you were packed with gear. The head was at 133f when I cycled it this second time and the head temperature rose to 174f.
I don't know what is the crucial heat point as I haven't researched it yet.

Yes, I thought about that, but would you put a fan under your truck where the sunken trunk is? I've been in water up to my sills, and am trying to figure out how to get some flow with out liquid intrusion.

I thought of something like a diff breather. that would help ventilation, actually two...in out.
Since the compressor is technically sucking air in and pushing it outside the box, i thin if i just increase the ventilation that would help keep it cooler, but only when it is pumping.....

Tire Carrier Hi-Lift & CB Mount
So I have been pretty busy trying to get a few small things done to the truck. I took the tire carrier off and reinforced the tow-hitch, added a CB antenna mount and mounted my HiLift jack.
To mount the jack i took some flat stock and some left over lug studs to hold the jack in place. I also used an extra wheel lock to keep it from walking. When i am on the trail, i will replace the lock-lug with another t-handle lug nut i made.

OBHS (on board hot shower)
No Pics, but i worked on my OBHS (on board hot shower) last night, specifically the curtain enclosure. It will be 3 sides and but up against the passenger side of the truck. Instead of a curtain i am building a freestanding colapasable privacy screen from copper and sunbrella. I was going to use PVC because it is cheapeer, but it is more flimsy.
My water pump should be here tomorrow, i have to figure out where to mount it, not sure if i can fit it in the sunken trunk.

Brown Santa delivered some OME CS009r leafs and N85 shocks from 4x4Connection.com(they are also IronPigOffroad.com).
Also got a u-bolt kit from Ruff Stuff Specialties, including shock tabs for relocation of said dampers.
Now if i could just get more time.
pics will be updated as i get some progress.

Old Man Emu & Ruff Stuff Specialties
Yesterday i gave my girl a much needed booty enhancement;
Old Man Emu Dakar Leaf Springs CS009R & Heavy Valve Shocks N85
Ruff Stuff Specialties Axle Swap Kit (U-bolt Flip)
The ride is 100% better then it was before, however my front end still needs to be upgraded. So on her maiden voyage(shake-down) i took an 89mile one-way ride from Baltimore to Leesburg, Virginia to pick up so things with a friend of mine. My buddy owns a 99 4Runner SR5, quote 'wow, this thing rides better then my 4Runner with almost half the miles'.
Needless to say i am very happy with the comfort on-road and in my 'unloaded' 4Runner.
My truck unloaded has, a swing out tire carrier with 32" mounted steely, dual batteries and OBA, not to mention two quarts of oil, various straps, sunken trunk. It was recommended to my from 4x4connection.com where i made my purchase to try the heavy weight shocks, they were right.
Driving impressions:
Much, much smoother comfy ride. In the old and tired setup, i had 2" of uptravel and that was using extended shackles. Every little bump felt like a big bump. Some of this was due to the cheap shocks i purchased...$25 a corner, felt like it.
The new setup soaks up bumps like a new vehicle should, however when you hit a good size bump at speed the shocks react differently, and you know it is a big bump, but now it is a controlled feeling and dampened as you would expect.
Currently she is jacked a little higher then i want, but that should settle, and i am fine with the height, i just need bigger meats now.
A tip if you plan to go with the OME springs, make sure you can jack your truck up higher then you think you need and way higher then to just remove your old springs.
And you cannot use your old leaf u-bolts, they will not have enough thread left as these springs are a thicker pack. This was a perfect time to U-Bolt flip and shock relocate.
Yes i would recommend these, at under $100 a leaf, and $50 shipping, you can't beat.

Plus I have two batteries back there, you could say my girl has some junk in the trunk. ..ha!
Anyhow, my swing out isn't 300#, I'd guess closer to 120lbs, but yes it is going to help the springs settle, but remeber , the OME Dakar series are the soft spring. The shocks are the heavy duty, but that has nothIng to do with ride height. Also, these springs give 2" of lift, the minimum offered by old man emu.
Keep in mind that our 20+ runners all suffer sag, and it is rare that you see one that isn't. My first impression was the rake wasn't so bad. Looks kinda cool IMHO.
