PS> I found a 90 4runner with a perfect tire carrier.... Only thing is, as you know, they bolt into the body, ...grrrr! lol. I also found a CHERRY 79 in Pick-your-part, ..... VERY nice bumper on there, but the morons had it sitting on the stand pillars they use to keep em off the ground, ya know? The 79 was that Sky Blue Toyota color and had a white shell with white wheels(soft 8's).... VERY nice rig! Sorry, end of tangent!

thanks Mark, i like the red also, my first 87 xtra cab was red as well. Definitley a red thing. I just wish my cap wasn't pink(sun faded)....haha.
The tire carrier, some fool, PO or PPO, mounted a tire carrier like the 90's style and it tweaked all the body metal on the backside of my rig. It can be done properly, but you need to put backing plates behind the thin stock sheet metal which the dopy PO didn't do. I think that is one of the last things i have to fix from the ghetto fab work Mr. Moron did to her, but that won't be till she gets painted. And ten i start thinking of paint ideas again...wow i get distracted easily.

I'm not there yet (hoping to finally get a welder this week actually), but when the time comes I'm going to scour your build up here and reach out to you. I guess the one question I have now is what did you use to mount to the frame? I've seen guys use square tubing to slide it into the ends of the frame rails and bolt on using the factory holes there. I see you have the hitch integrated into the bumper so I'm guessing that's what you did too?

I'd love to see this too. I unfortunately coated my entire surround with black silicone years ago, chasing a leak that wasn't there....it looks horrid. When it comes time to replace the window I want to do something clean like this!

No, I had a local ma and PA shop do it. I just brought the truck to them and said I wanted a universal gasket to replace the metal. They should ^^^me a few recommended options.

Haha... when I had a Windshield guy/team do mine, they messed up and 'FAILED' on a portion of the center/upper portion of that GOOP, lol. Well, it started leaking from the moonroof.... WTH? I thought it was the moonroof seal, but as I tore it apart up there(the ceiling, etc.), I noticed the water was coming from the windshield and then running back and along the INSIDE of the moonroof seam......FROM WHAT I COULD TELL with my 'non' expert eyes, lol. I had them come back out, and asked for another set of guys.... They came, took out a spray bottle and sprayed all over the moon roof to try and get it to leak.... It wouldn't, and then he said, "hmmm, I bet you're a good guesser, cuz it IS coming from the windshield", which he verified with more spray bottling method, lol. He tore out the inner trim, carefully, cleaned away alot of the goop on each side of the leak and re-did it, ...it's been good to go since! Gotta say, .... 170$ parts and labor to do it in my garage.... NOT BAD! Lol. OH, and I found the missing corner chrome trim at the Pick-Your-Part and they re-did that, too. GOTTA LOVE HIGH COMPETITIVE MARKETS LIKE L.A. FOR AT LEAST that much, eh? lol. Sorry for the tangent... just relaying my windshield story, lol.

I am gonna take a shot at this one since I am somewhat good at guessing games but am gonna say remote mount dual batteries therefore 2 negatives (grey) and two positives (red) are needed. But then again each connector effctively has two terminals more then capable of carrying enough current. Maybe 4 batteries? 2 for truck and two for a portable welding setup?

Actually, the red and grey were just cuz I wanted two different colors if I wanted to do what Brandon said. And yes I'm gathering speed for the battery relocation. Next is the solenoid to separate them.

those plugs have both the pos and neg connectors in the same housing. there is no "female" or "male" side as you just use the same type, just flipped upside-down. it's ingeneous!
got it, for the color choice
as for my set-up, i was thinking:
plug---battery
plug---1/2 jumper cable
plug---the other 1/2
and the thought crossed my mind of using these type of connectors (aviation standard). too expensive, though.
