Lewis15498 08-01-2011 12:51 PM

Cool truck dude. Love the bobbed bed and all the wheelin pics!

rattlewagon 08-30-2011 05:01 PM

These are some old videos of right after the spool went in. I need to get back to the shop. Taking the truck to an off road park in NH end of october and still need to do a few more things. Some of them are sideways, sorry about that, they were from his phone.

possum34 09-04-2011 10:32 AM

I like the look of your truck with the bed bob.One question for you do you like the pro comps?

rattlewagon 09-07-2011 07:37 PM

Theyre not bad typical mud terrain. Im defiantly in the market for a set of swampers if thats what you mean.

Kai- Im going to be in royalton this weekend. Let me know if you go down that way. And I think its time we bob your bed. Haha.

Had a mouse nest in the fan from last winter. Got that cleaned out.

Finished getting all the nasty carpet out.

Before:

After:
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w...3/110_0164.jpg

Installed one of these guys because the breather was clogged causing the pinion to leak. Might still need a seal, but well see if it drys up.

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w...3/110_0144.jpg

Brought my winch with me this weekend to do some more testing. Soloinoids all checked out, but the motor wouldn't spin. So we pulled the motor casing off to find a boat load of corrosion. Nothing looked too worn out, just dirty, so we started taking it apart to clean and re assemble. This thing started life on a trailer, and it looks as it was NEVER covered.

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w...3/110_0165.jpg

All 4 of the brushes were frozen. Again, dissemble, clean and reassemble.

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w...3/110_0167.jpg

Got it all back together and it works!! But, still clicks and goes faster spooling out then spooling in. Next Ill take the gear side of it apart and clean and re grease.

And a quick run around the yard before it was time to go.

Sliders should be on Monday. Next on the list is re work the exhaust higher up and still need to mount a fire extinguisher, and I guess that I should probably get some paint on that bob job. Haha.

ChefYota4x4 09-11-2011 02:26 PM

OOOH, looks like you about took that muffler off on that cement block there in that one pic, eh? lol.

Looking good, man, ...keep at it!

rattlewagon 09-11-2011 03:32 PM

Hey there Chef! The muffler defiantly got scraped. Thats why its time to get it up higher.

FourwheelinVT 09-11-2011 03:40 PM

Hey, I saw you in Bethel today! Nice work on the interior. Can't wait to see the sliders on, I got some free tubing last week and was planning on making some for my truck. When I get time. LOL

rattlewagon 09-11-2011 03:53 PM

Yeah, all the bridges are out because if Irene, so to get to the interstate (or anywhere really) I have to take back roads to Bethel to get to a main road! Also, I Just put those wipers on today. Haha.

JW667 09-12-2011 07:34 AM

OOOH, I knew it! lol. Seriously, nice work man! And, .....isn't it amazing how seemingly lil things like 'wipers' can literally keep you from going on under certain circumstances????? lol.

rattlewagon 09-12-2011 03:53 PM

Sliders came in today. Cant wait to get these things on. Im not the best welder...so this should be a good project for me.

i want sliders just like the one in the picture. all plated out no holes. wonder if its a good idea to buy sliders with kick out and add cover plates on top...

ChefYota4x4 09-12-2011 08:22 PM

Toyo..... which picture? The one with his sliders all wrapped up, or another one? Sorry, I'm a lil slow today! lol. I'm about to bite the bullet on sliders, and I want the right ones... Which I guess are like 4xInnovations and a couple others, right? So, when you said "the plate welded on top"... I think I know what you mean,...and I wanna see that!lol.

so far 4xInnovations are the ones i want with the kickout. but i like to look of how it all wrapped up but if the wrap was all metal lol. i would build my own but it seems cheaper to buy 4xInnovations and plate them up. not a fan of tubes. prefer all squares as the runner has more square lines than round

BoredOutnJackdUp 09-12-2011 08:43 PM

Scribed.
Refreshing to see someone wheel a real toyota.

Ahhhh, i gotcha. Hypothetical Hippo in the room! lol. yeah, that might look great. You basically mean to weld a plate all the way across the top of the slider so it looks like a solid piece of metal on top of the outer edge tube? Yeah, I've never seen that. You have pics of that somewhere? Or are you saying 4xinnovations does that already?
