Silicone tubes for all! Wouldn't of expected that one, even if I've heard it before, Plenty of guys running around with that taped up apparently.

Thanks everyone. I can't convey how excited I am to have that issue fixed, but I know you guys understand better than anyone could.

With that behind me, my mind is turning back to next steps. Here's what's on my list right now to keep this project going:

- Sliders
- Figure out a way to mount my Hi-jack
This is really stumping me.
- Get my ammo-box center console bolted in
- Spare tire mount in bed
Something easy to use when wheelin, but doesn't take up much space without the spare on it for daily driving. I either leave my spare at home, or put it back under the truck day-to-day to keep my cargo area open.
- Ball Joints
The rubber around my balljoints has cracked severely. I can see bare metal in at least one spot. I think I'll look in to some heavy duty balljoints, hoping they can handle the greater travel I'm putting them through with the low profile bump stops.
- Winch
Right now I'm looking at the Smittybuilt XRC-8 Comp or non-Comp. Still debating and researching.
- Greaseable Shackles
- Polyurethane bushings/mounts
- Front Speakers
I've got the pods in my doors for 6" speakers already from the previous owner. They were hooked up to an amp flopping around under the passenger seat. I pulled it all out to clean things up. I'd like to get the speakers mounted securely in the pods (one fell out) and wire them up directly to the head unit, just to keep things simple. I may have to get new 2-way speakers, what came in the truck may just be woofers.
- Long Tube Headers (maybe)
- Desmog engine, get rid of all these vacuum lines and switches.
- Short intake and battery swap (maybe)
- Electric fan

What am I missing, guys?

I was JUST looking at some LED bars in classifieds... I haven't done any night wheelin, but it's a bit chicken-and-egg. Do I not have lights because I never wheel at night, or do I not wheel at night because I don't have lights??

We got hit with a couple nights of heavy storms, so I hit a creek bed after work today to get in to some sloppy mud and flowing water. The Runner was a champ.

Thanks guys!

Well... I got itchy and pulled the trigger on a winch. Smittybuilt XRC-8 standard model. I also got a tree saver strap and snatch block.

NIce score on the smittybuilt. You will have to let us know how it does on your runner. Thats the one I plan on getting. Looks like a fun weekend wheeling.

The winch came in yesterday. Of course, in my head I was going to bolt it on, plug in a couple wires, and be on my way. Reality is so different.

It's a tighter fit than I was expecting. I need to either figure out how to mount the control box in the right spot, or cut a section of my grille out. Looks like a Saturday project to me.

I wanted to get the winch fully installed today. As you can see in the photo in my last post, the XRC8 is a pretty tight fit on my Addicted Offroad bumper.

I really didn't want to cut a hole in my grille. As I was researching I also kept seeing that the control box on the XRC8 doesn't hold up to heavy water very well, so I figured I'd solve two problems if I mounted the control box in the engine bay.

I've got this huge cruise control box, it must have been a dealer-add option. I never use cruise, so I figured I could take it out and use that location for mounting the control box for the winch.

With the location for the control box chosen, I trimmed the grille as little as possible to get clearance for the winch.

It took a few hours of test fits, an auto-parts store trip, bracket hacking, and wire routing before I was done. I got a couple 48" 4 gauge battery cables to let me mount the control box further away from the winch. The supplied cables were far too short.

I took the wired remote plug out of the control box and cut a hole for it in my shifter trim. I ran wire through the firewall and under the dash.

It took a lot longer than I hoped it would, but I'm happy with how tucked away and finished everything is. I do think I'd like to find a steel hawse fairlead. The rollers stick out so far, I'm going to nail them on a drop or misjudged ridge long before the bumper hits.
