The switch is no loss ATM. I fist have to figure a way to mount my lights. They're too big for the bumper. And I will probably take you up on the seatbelts. Thanks so much! I've never cared for just lap belts, but would never have known of that mod if it wasn't for you. Was that an original idea? Have't seen it anywhere else.

Yeah, it's been done before. I've found so many mods for my 4Runner, thanks to YotaTech. Never stop learning....

His truck is awesome. The first time I drove past it, I thought, "Wow, that is exactly how I was picturing my truck looking!"

Thanks again for the compliments guys and gal! I am very happy with the way this build is coming along.

I got the AFM yesterday. It appears to be in good shape.

I'm shopping around for a filter right now, trying to decide on a True Flow, or a K&N Apollo. I like the Apollo because it would be simple to attach to a snorkel, if I decide to do that down the road. However, I think the True Flow foam filters are far superior to the K&N. I can always build my own air box too... I also need to decide if now's the time for a battery/intake swap. Hmmm, probably.

On another note, I added a new sticker to the collection. Proceeds go to Molly (Lysmachia) to help in her time of need.... click for info

I got the AFM installed this morning. So far, so good. It has better throttle response, more power, and no more flat spots. I used the stock intake tube for now, just to make sure the AFM operates properly, but that will change when I do the battery swap. It will be interesting to see the difference after the silencer is removed. I'll post pics when it's done.

When you change your intake tube, want to sell me your old one? I think the melted tube just might be a little restrictive

Are you keeping track of MPG stats? I'd be interested in seeing what effect better breathing has.

I have a spare tube at the house. You can have it. I'll throw it in the 4Runner so you can come by and get it when you get a chance. I'll post up my MPG when I can.

Update

I picked up a new Hi-Lift jack at 4WheelParts last week, and I needed to mount it somewhere. It fit perfectly behind my air tank, so I fabbed some simple mounts. Turned out pretty nice if you ask me.

I also wanted to get a tire plug kit to add to my gear. I found this one locally for $20. Seems like a great kit.

Next, I extended the harness for my AFM. I still need some cables for the battery, and need to fab a mount for the swap. The silicone elbow I ordered was no longer available, so I will be going a different route on the intake. I'll post up my progress when I can.

Lastly, I sold my AR15, and will be using part of the proceeds for some new BFG KM2's in the 33x10.50 flavor. I can't wait...

I'm also pulling my rear third for a rebuild. My pinion bearings are making some noise. Should be good to go in a couple weeks.

Looks good man! That jack did fit perfectly, no joking there.

What kinda noise is your third making? My bearings sounded like a big-rig's exhaust when coasting down hill, just not in the same volume.

The bearings have had some noise for a while. There was some water in the third when I first got the 4Runner, as well as the tranny and t-case. My guess is the PO went through some deep water at Hollister, then broke the truck and it sat parked for a few months. The water in the third and the transmission probably rusted things up a bit, when it sat parked. I've changed to a 95 transmission/t-case out of a donor rig, but haven't yet addressed the third. Fortunately, the front gears are perfectly fine.

I got my new tires yesterday, 33x10.50-15 BFG KM2's. I'm digging the skinny tire look. I'll post some pics when it stops raining cats and dogs. So far, I really like the way they ride. They are smooth, quiet, and the steering is much easier. I absolutely can't wait to take them off road. This weekend, however, I am removing my rear third for it's rebuild.

Also, I'll be giving the 4Runner a fresh coat of paint for Spring/Summer, and I've decided to go with flat black this time around. I love the way the green looks, and if I can get the black to go on as nicely as the green did, it will look even better. I guess we'll all see soon.....

The pics look good. Can't really tell the difference from the highway as I drive by. What made you decide to try the skinny tires?

I've heard they perform better off road. More pressure psi=more grip. Also, I plan on doing a long travel in the future, so with these tires there will be a little less stress on the steering and suspension, and a couple inches narrower track overall. So far I love them.

Also, I pulled my rear third today and dropped it off to be rebuilt. If all goes well, I'll pick it up and reinstall it Tuesday. I noticed some contact between the ARB housing and the pinion gear. I've been told this is normal, or at least common. Hopefully there won't be any issues, and it will be nice and quiet this time around.
