Are you saying your never gonna wheel again? Your 2 main options are Toyota and Jeep, unless you wanna wheel a full size truck. I really can't see you driving a jeep.

haha Not sure what I want to do. not that it matters, nissan, ford, chevy, dodge, GMC all make compacts.

I really love the mustang, so i've been thinking of buying a diesel 7.3 or cummins to have as a daily driver...

Gotta find one first. I want a white / manual transmission, and in reasonably good condition. but we'll see. it must be FJ62 though. I dont want to deal with carburetors. I do that enough on my mustang.

i'd say don't do an fj62 until you're financially stable enough to drop some coin into it. i can almost guarantee you're gonna spend a lot trying to get that thing DD or long-trip worthy. think of it as picking up another mustang

the 60-series is probably my favorite Cruiser body style. if i had unlimited time and funds, i'd combine a 60's body with the suspension and drivetrain of the 80 and 100-series Cruisers = perfection (see "Project X2")

yeah... thats my problem with the FJ62... i want something fuel efficient and daily drivable..

I seriously might go get this. its a killer deal. i drove my cousins 4Runner around the other day and it was nice... still had the same feel as my runner, nice and compact but a ton of power. plus the automatic was kinda nice to have.

its always been my dream to put a 3rd gen on 35s... 3" suspension 2" body and run the 35s... but i cant decide... i never thought getting another yota would be this god damn hard. i think its because i dont NEED a yota, since i have a work truck and my toy ( mustang ) so its like i'd be buying another toy since i drive the work truck daily? so its basically another money dump? which i really want to get the mustang restored? but I really miss going campin and such. which i could do in a stock vehicle. but 5k can do a lot to that mustang too... i think im over thinking it and just need to go pick a rig up and have 3 vehicles.

3" suspension and 2" body will require some trimming I think. I get some rub on mine and I have rims that are pushed out too.

It would help if I extended the steering stops back to stock though. They wore away over time. Mines a 2nd Gen though so it might be better on a 3rd.

I want a bigger engine in mine. Does the 3.4 feel more powerful or is it a waste of money? For a swap I mean, I've never driven one.

if you're gonna buy a 4runner, that one you linked definitely has potential. on the other hand, it makes me nervous since i can't say I've EVER seen a clean 3rd gen or a tacoma going for less than $7-8k in CA - so i'd be damn sure nothings wrong with it with pricing like that.

nothing wrong with having multiple rigs except for not being able to fund them all equally, lol. i've got: 93 pickup, 100-series, corolla, accord hybrid, and an SV650 parked at my house right now. can only drive one at a time

careful where you park that mustang. i was watching the news the other day and there was a report about a cherry classic mustang being stolen from a school parking lot in the middle of the day. the report also said they think someone's targeting them since there have been several recent reports of other classic mustangs that have been stolen recently, all in norcal, most during the day, and many parked at schools/institutions.

That is a great looking 4Runner. For $4695, there is either something wrong with it or the owner must not know what he actually has. If there's nothing wrong with it, jump on it quick, even if it does have an automatic tranny. You might never find a deal like that ever again. Even though an Fj62 would be cooler, that seems like too good a deal to pass up. I am, however, skeptical about the words typed in all caps in that ad...I hate when people do that. To me, it just screams "SCAM!!"

There's a pretty cool FJ62 I came across in DC if you're interested http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/n...389346025.html

Anyway, I can't wait to see what happens.

Dayummm that thing is clean.... Yes, with 134k? Hmmmmm.... Well, never know til ya look-see, yeah? CARFAX IT HARD! lol.

Agree with ya... it's one of my favorite colors/combos of 5spd and 4WD Utility... LOVE the body style on it, more than most any other Yota.... EXCEPT, OF COURSE, the 60's and 80's! hahaha. Maltese... you see the Sequoia he got? SWEET deal! lol.

Best wishes on whatever you decide, man.

I'm part of a lot of mustang forums as well. and there have been reports of 6 mustangs stolen in the northern california area. all classics as well... of course mine isn't cherry, i'd be heart broken if it was stolen. its parked indoors and under surveillance.

I'm really considering it... we'll see here in a couple weeks. work has been... stressful. so i've really been focusing on that. if things straighten out, i'll definitely go pick up a rig. until then, i'll sit on the cash.
