six shooters is just so over kill... and yes, TG makes Longfields, dirty thirties, and a bunch of other axle selections. The FJ60 is really a popular swap now due to the rock assault axle being marketed more... they're the same width.

Its gonna be awhile. Im leaving for LA the morning after christmas for a week. I'll definitely order some armor and a rebuild kit shortly after i get back though! i want the spring perches moved and the armor welded on before I even start rebuilding the axle, that way i can just paint it once its done.

Oyah sounds good! You going with toyota bearings right? Tg's bearings apperently blow?
Either way its really easy to take apart which is nice i mean yours looks much cleaner than the one i had and we didnt need a torch for any bolts after 26 years of rust! lol. Actually we needed a toexh to get the rotors off the hub but that doeant really count haha. Ill juat be glad to see some more sas goin on! Me an my 4" ifs lift will be all i get for a while.

Yeah the axle itself isn't in bad shape. The knuckles look grimy and nasty... i'll get more indepth pictures later. I shouldn't need a torch for anything.

Im going with the marlin crawler rebuild kit. Im gonna order brake plate eliminators and brakes as well whenever i order the rebuild kit. The calipers look to be in good condition and have brand new pads in them. I'll get more in depth pictures later.

So christmas came and went... as far as truck stuff goes. I got an XRC8 winch, and a URD short shifter... but the short shifter doesn't fit, so my brother is gonna put it on his truck and buy me an axle rebuild kit for the Fj62 axle... also got a matching 5th rim for my spare tire on the back... Here's a pic:

haha we'll see. I've contemplated selling it... :/ I just wish it got better MPG, and didn't have an electronic rear window that works on its own dime. Im thinking of saving up for a 3.4 or possibly 2.7 when im done with the SAS. and im gonna rewire the switch/rear window to a more reliable set up.

You should get that rear window fixed soon, it definitely can't be that hard. Especially since you need it to get into the back of your rig.

Nobody here has seen a mad person until they see Mak dealing with a rear window that won't roll down. Lol

After some hard wheeling this new years weekend my rear will go up but now down. At least by the switch. Turning the key in the tailgate still works at least...

That's going to be a nice setup, I definitely don't regret my SAS and am very happy with it. Definitely looks like a lot of work but the outcome will be rewarding. I'm in Sacramento area so if you want a helping hand shoot me a message, don't mind shooting a few cents in but good luck!

And after one good weekend wheeling trip at Fordyce creek and a big tree at night came a busted rear gate with a dent in the middle, only able to go half way up. Was a chilly few nights in the runner.....

Put in new shifter bushing/seat from Marlin Crawler. Shifts like a new truck again!
