heh, nice. i need to move the lights because they're hard to see during the day. i have enough wire to stretch them to the passenger's side, if needed.
just checked for codes: nuthin'. the gauge with the engine off, key in or out, is to the right of the "L", so methinks it's the gauge. dammit.

i want to make my own dash, and i know how. but $ome $tuff need$ more attention than other$. i'm also working on the trailer, school's finishing up, so i'll need some savings to get me out the door, and there's still a few minor repairs to the truck.

Sorry bout the drama, Ian! ..... Where is your Oil Pressure while driving? Brandon's right, that gauge isn't too high when at idle and hot/fully warm. But should be near half or at least 3/8ths on the gauge with 170K on it or so.
I'll be watchin.. you gonna do a compression test or anything else?

all-righty! i figured out the issue with my oil gauge!
when i put in my fan indication, i moved the antilock indication bulb over two spots, thinking nothing of it. today i traced some circuits, and found that i had put the bulb in the circuit with the gauge, causing it to function the way it did.
now to re-work some wiring...

thats awsome news, im sure ur vary relived. oddly enough that may be the best news ive heard all day. i was reluctant to post bc the best solution i could come up with was the oil sending unit. once again your electrial geneious pays off.

the shack's finest! haha... i've done so many circuits on that thing, and it's the only one i have. it's great for simple stuff like this, too. also, that altoids tin is full of led's, and my "power supply" is one of these
once the jb-weld is done drying (tomorrow), i can put the lights back in and be set for the week

Loving this thread...2 days in, just finished it. I am the proud owner of a '92 4wd...today I just belined my smittybilt nerf bars with Herculiner. I have a set of roll bars that I will soon do the same too, and of course put in the truck. Certainly gonna put lights on the roll bar, getting great wiring ideas from here. Thanks Ian!
