Before you decide to go SAS Ian have you looked into the long travel IFS kits you can get now? you can get close to the same wheel travel as a SAS but still keep the driveability of the IFS system. Just a thought and I'm sure whatever you do will be awesome!

"Ohhhhhh yeahhhhh-EEE-h-h-h!" ... <<in really deep Barry White voice.... with a slight scrEEEching crackle in there like Bobcat Goldthwait once Barry sees the Sticker! Hehe....

Actually,.... to have something with all solid stuff that would outrun and outlast MUCH of what is or will be on the trail.... It can be SOOOO much cheaper than going new, or say like with the 66-77 bronco hobby expense???( Doing one of those right and then resto and initial cost? Eeeeeeek! Lol) ...... I have seen MANY SFA yotas in LA with ZERO rust and all the goodies, w/recovery gear, armored, SAS, even motor swupgraded....haha.....6k $! Ask Richard/Redeth..... theres an 89 on 37's and 1 ton/full width axles front and rear.....with working ebrake!>>>> 6, 600$!!! I COULD have just gone that route...... but the thrill of being like Frankenyotastein is great.....and so is having lifetime warranties! Lol.

Mark uou talking about that beautiful white 4runner? With the cab exo cage? Yeaa that one looks nice. Would have been nice to buy that one. It cost about 1/2 of what I have spent for my truck so far. Lol but going this route is more fun. You appreciate your truck a lot more and the people who helped you. Sure its expensive but at least I know exactly what is being put into my truck vs just taking somebody's word for it ya know.

You're in for a big spending spree. Lol

i have, but they are cost-prohibitive with more points of failure. also, where i wheel, solid axles are better suited for the terrain. plus long arms add a few inches to the width, so i'd hafta watch driving around town and all.

i agree with you on the appreciation, and the amount of knowledge you gain, can't put a dollar amount on useful knowledge in my eyes.

Definitely dude! I tried doing as much of this stuff myself. Very greatful to Yotatech, Mark, and my neighbours and most definitely my girls Uncles for helping me with the engine rebuild. But I am happy I did it because now when it comes to maintaining it I know how to take it apart and put back together. Woot

It's fun and makes me proud to do the work myself too. Except my latest fix. Had to take it to the mechanic as I'm not healed up enough yet.

Ahh well. Next one.

indeed. it doesn't have the original motor, but i like it the way it is just fine. it's not done yet, but the hull floats and the engine almost runs, so it's closer than my last boat. it really needs a good cleaning, as there's about two years of dead leaves inside

Haha.... , trust me, if it weren't for my entire family (less my pops who is 340 miles off in Lake Havasu City) living in LA County.....I would have likely moved from CA to a more liberated state. Yet,....CALIFORNIA IS BEAUTIFUL,..... and tons of adventure to be had that can keep ppl busy for months or even yrs, trying to see it all. Lol.
