la chambre est petite, mais je sais que mon terrain de jeu est suffisante
back on topic: this is the type of "garage" i'm looking at getting. it'll be up for a while, so i want to get something that'll last.
10x20x8 or maybe 12x20x8
(ps- "shelterlogic" has extremely mixed reviews, so i don't think i'll be ordering from them)

sooooo... a bit of excitement today...
just a wee bit hot
my fan wasn't turning on, but i didn't think much of it. usually the kill switch doesn't re-connect, and will randomly come back on soon after. but today, it wasn't coming back on. ok, so i just need to hard-wire the dcc controller to be "on," right? wrong. i'm greeted with that mess of a smoking fuse. crap. so i cut all the dcc controller wires and drove home (4 miles) with no fan. luckily, i always keep a spare mechanical fan assembly in my toolbox. 15 mins later and i had a running, cooling truck again. and i can drive without the heat on full-blast.
but the electric fan isn't done-for. like i said, i'm working on my own, serviceable controller with more features.

meh, there's other threads with rear platforms. mine wouldn't have been anything special. i love my little camper that i got, so now there's room for more than 2 people, and i have tons more storage space. plus, it's easier to heat, insulate, change clothes, and relax in the trailer, among other things...

yea i hear ya. I have been looking at these really little square pull behind campers. they pop up and theres a ladder that you climb up to get to your bed. I forget the name of them but they run about 2500-3000. So now im just looking for an alternative root until i can save up some money. But i like everything you have done with your truck. it looks really good and very useful for what you use it for.

so i just did my fuel mileage for the past half-year. since i've moved to the new house (closer to work), my mileage has dropped about 1.5 mpg (to around 20.5). but, that's offset by the amount i'm driving. i used to fill up about every week. now, it's the same cost, but every other week.
old commute:
-88 miles round-trip (per day)
-mostly freeway @ 60mph
-22mpg
-4 gallons a day ≈ $14.60 a day
new commute:
-20 miles round-trip
-mostly country roads @ 40mph
-20.5mpg
-0.976 gallons a day ≈ $3.56 a day
and just for fun, my really old commute i did for 1.75 years
-100 miles round trip
-mostly county roads @50mph
-21.5mpg
-4.65 gallons a day ≈ $16.98 a day
the r151f did bump up my fuel mileage by about 0.5mpg, even with the added weight and friction of the larger gears and second crawl box. but i'm still not done with the truck. once i get a commuter car, all hell will break loose. but that's quite a ways of...

i really wish i could find a 3rd gen xtra cab with a 22re, i dont see how the r151f gave you mpg? i know the 1st gear is lower but isnt the upper gears the same as the stock w56?

yep. same bolt pattern, nothing fancy at all. you can reference parts using an 87 turbo truck, as they'll all fit your current engine (ie- bellhousing bolts, starter studs/nuts), and use your current engine's clutch/pressure plate/throwout bearing. even the shifters will interchange, so you can figure out a setup that works with your rig. if you're just doing a straight swap, it's no different than a clutch job.
