farmkid's 1994 Pickup Build-Up Thread
After reading through some other build threads and with a little encouragement I have decided to start a build thread for my truck It is a 94 Toyota pickup dlx 22re 5spd.
When I purchased it about 4 yrs ago it had a blown head-gasket and was dissembled down to the head. It came with new gaskets, water pump, radiator, timing chain and a few more things I cant remember at this point. Lol
With my brothers help I got it put back together and running. I have been making small improvements here and there but mostly just driving it since then
It came with a plow and matching cap and looked pretty much like the below pictures when i got. Except the rims were not painted and there was some rusty sections on the cab corners which i cut out and in some patches(still needs some sanding and painting...).
And the other side
My list for now(although im sure ill think of more) is:
Replace both front fenders
Repaint the black parts of the grill
Get plow wiring fixed and working
Find and fix oil leak
fix/replace exhaust
my goal with this truck is to get it running well and improve everyday drive-ability for now then possibly do some offroad mods.
I ordered 2 new fenders so they should be here beginning of next week.
I got the grill and and painted yesterday just waiting for it to finish drying.
Before:
Primed:
more to come.

I ordered the fenders off ebay one from remandieselparts and the other from carpartswholesale. One of them has a little dent/scratch in it so it was on sale got both shipped for >$90. I'll just have to paint them to match.

Got my grill mounted but didnt have time to do much else. Spent most of the afternoon doing firewood.
Here are some pictures of the finished grill. I am pretty happy with how it turned out although i still have a lot to learn as far as painting goes.
On the truck
And one of the view while i was cutting firewood

Thanks! Im happy with it. motivates me to clean up more parts on the truck
Will be a bit before any more major updates truck is currently in the shop to get the plow wiring straightened out. My brother gave me a hand and we worked on it for a couple hours but decided to take it to a shop and let them straighten it out since the PO had made a pretty good mess out of it.
Kinda off topic but does anyone have a couple used 22re pistons they would sell for cheap? if so pm me i am looking for a couple for an idea i had for the truck.

Miss my extended cab, one I would of like to kept. Those are some great trucks. You are getting the truck looking better. Just takes a little time to get them back into shape. I just threw some pistons away last week. Was setting on a shelf for 2 or 3 years. I have a spare motor so really did not need them or you could of had them. Welcome to Yotatech.

Well my fenders arrived!
They look pretty decent and I can hardly see any "Damage" on the one with stickers so im quite happy we'll see how they fit but so far quite pleased.
I also got my truck back from the shop yesterday and my plow/lights are now working although the bill left something to be desired oh well
Hopefully updates with painted fenders will be coming soon... if the weather will stay warm for a few days.
