no kidding prices are all over the map.
a friend at work bought this 2009 4th gen from a coworker (who has owned it since new) is too tall for the 4runner.
it has 130K on it. 14 years old I know both the owners and the entire history of it. Price is at the lower end of the 4th gen price spectrum.
There is one on PDX craigslist they want $38k for
so this might be in the driveway soon
it would be a slow build but would serve the purpose of a good dog hauler and weekend trail runner
start off with sliders and a bumper to throw my winch on,

Well, it's no 3rd gen but I guess if not having your front wheel rip off due to lbj failure is your game...
It'd make a good dog and grandkid carrier so I can almost (not 3rd gen) approve.

Personally, I like the 4.0l V6...
And Project Recycle is getting cozy.
If you look close, you can see the gray truck shoved in the back of the garage... Poor thing!

I agree!
I was hoping a 2nd Tacoma Access cab would work since you can find them with a 3RZ so the 4 banger would get a little better mileage but the rear seat just didn’t seem like it would work with Tatum’s car seat.. and the little bugger is growing like crazy so it probably would not have worked for more than a couple of years.
just filled the Dodge yesterday and had to leave a kidney on the counter with gas at $5.40/gal and climbing so I may need to just get a commuter car ..uuuuugg
