After 23 years the factory stripes were faded and chips, especially the passenger side.
I had tried heat gun and goof off when I saw a thread some where about a drill powered adhesive remover. Watched some video on YouTube and decided to order one for $10 off amazon
After a couple of hours it looked like this
Driver side before
Passenger side before
Testing it, makes a poop ton of dust
About 2 or 3 hours I was done
Pretty happy with the outcome for $10 and an afternoon

Looks awesome!!! I did it the same one once and burned thru the paint to the primer.... Got to be careful with those things, but they do an awesome job taking the stripe off

Lookin good Robb. Those rubber wheels do make a mess. We've used them a lot for removing stickers / stripes from boats. The gel coat is much more forgiving as it doesn't get as hot. Tony

I had never heard of these things unitl last week.
I can see where these would be great to use on a boat. You guys probably use an air driven drill that would make it go much faster.

Man, that looks like a good little tool! I like the decals on my rig, but they are so warn out . I wanted to replace them with brand new ones and the ones ones I found cost wayyyy to much.
Are you going to add any decals or leave it like this?

I am not gonna put any thing new on the truck. I think I got lucky in that you have to be really close to see a difference between the red under the stripes and the faded exposed paint.
anyone that decides to use the drill eraser, watch a few youtube videos. The passenger side went twice as fast after I figured out a good pattern
edit: if anyone has the RYobi 18v tool stuff, this little 6 position battery charger kicks as for projects when you need a lot of batteries

Just got off the phone with 85Toyman. The 4Runner will be heading down to his shop in a few weeks to have the IFS chopped off and have the straight axle from the 81 thrown under it and see some real tires under it. Really happy that this thing is gonna be on the trails soon.

You have a 3VZE? I think you can use the same windage, dipstick, and location. 2wd and T100s had the correct oil pan you need, but you know this. The rest of the list looks right from memory.
