Could'nt post in the sale thread but yes the new owner is a member here. Can't even begin to explain how solid this truck is!
Starting to get acquainted at just over 11,000 feets the day after i picked her up! I may have to quit my day job and take up full-time wheelin'
edit- apologize for the huge picture.

Thanks man! Do you have any wheel spacers? It sounds like you really need to move the axle forward or clearance the firewall, but there are a ton of factors involved.

It's been a while since I've updated this, so I guess it's time.
After a few trips and a bunch of wheeling I've noticed at certain times the truck would run hot. I never actually overheated it, but it came close a couple of times. After a lot of thought, I feel the main reason for this is lack of air flow to the radiator (mainly the front bumper and winch). It only heats up when I'm pulling large hills / passes, the engine is working hard, the turbo is hot and the outside temp. is warm.
I have done a bunch to help fix this, and everything has helped but I still think I'm going to have to do more.
The first thing I did was add hood louvers. I noticed that when I ran trails that were steep passes, and the engine was working hard without much speed, the engine compartment would get super hot. I don't they do a whole lot at highway speed but they really seem to make a differance on the trail.
I spent a bunch of time figuring out how to space them so they didn't look stupid. The lower louver ended up being right on top of the brace, so I ended up drilling a bunch of holes in the brace for the air to escape.

Cheers everyone, i am the new proud owner of this runner. Looking forward to doing some maintenance and upgrades and wheeling. Having spoke with Dirtco a out the build a little bit, I already have some 37's on the way!
Just need some wheel suggestions though...i did mis-order and have 37x13.5r17 wide tires coming doh. what backspacing would make this fit best as possible?

Hey cool breeze congrats on the 4runner, I wondered if it was still around, it was one of my favorite builds, also really like dirtco's off road trailer he built, it inspired me to start building one of my own. Anyway look forward to seeing some pics of the old girl and what you do with her!

If I remember correctly you need to have 15 posts before you can start a thread in the classified section.
Do you have any recent pics since you got the 4runner, I'd be interested to see how she looks and what kind of rust problems you're looking at repairing.
