There's some stuff I want to do first though.

- Upper and Lower Ball Joints
- Inner & Outer Tie Rods
- Power Steering Box (Mine's Leaking)
- Chevy Spring Swap

As much as I want to make a video now, I want to refresh the front end a bit from all the previous off roading. The chevy springs would also make the ride much better and all in all would make a much better video.

Sorry man, basically I want to build up my truck first and then go to the desert and have some fun.

Bed Cage

So I got a bed cage now. Still needs some work, I didn't have time to finish welding because I just moved in to a new place, but it's good for now.

Awwweeesome! Do you have some leaf springs in mind? I recently installed some Chevy 63" leaf springs on my truck. I determined the travel to be about 14" without going into negative arch or without over flexing the drop. I configured the bumpstops and am working on the limiting straps. I built a set of shock hoop to go outside the frame rails up into the wheel well (I have 2" wheel adaptors and a 3.75" backspace rim that allow clearances). The mock up shock hoop is showing shock mounting points to be +/- 40" extended and +/- 26" compressed. I am looking at installing a SAW 2.5 16" travel remote res. shock.

The Chevy 63" spring is a bit oversprung but with the bed cage and two spare tires..... plus some gear it might work for you. Springs are $100 at a salvage yard and the weld on Bracket Kits are available for about $100-$150. The weld on kit I used resulted in 4" of lift. It used a 6" shackle that I am replacing with a 4" shackle to drop the rear an inch.

I want to get chevy springs as well, but put them spring under to avoid too much lift. Might not be for a while though lol

A stock Chevy 63" spring under conversion wouldn't give you any lift..... it might even lower the rear. You will have to build a super long shackle or something? I am going by Deaver later in the week to show him my progress and discuss some options. I am looking into the f55 and f67 for Albert to put on the Mantruck. I am also researching what might work on my 4 Runner (which needs 6" of lift in the rear to match the combo kit in the front)

Just had a quick question for you, did you have to grind the shock mount in order to get the shock bolts in on the shock hoop? And if so, how much did you grind off? I just about have everything to put my blazeland kit w/ coilovers on and noticed that the shock doesnt quite have enough room. Again, thanks for the help and your truck is awesome!

I didn't have to grind the shock mount, I had no trouble getting the bolts in either. I don't really get what you mean though, can you give me some details?

Heres a pic of the shock and mount. At all angles the shock eyelet is about 1/16th of an inch off from the bolt hole on the shock hoop.

Oh I see. It looks to me that the mount hits the shock body before the eyelet matches the hole correct? I never ran into that problem. I would either grind off a little bit to make it fit, or have a talk with Nate about it. It may even be the shock manufacturer error too.

First off though, I would try everything like, did you get the misalignment spacers all the way in, what is the mount width of the shock (ie 1.25" or 1.5") and does it match the width of the shock mount on the hoop, try even a 90 degree angle, try matching my pictures and see how high the shock gets before it can't go up anymore.

I know it must be a little frustrating, but at least you caught that early. Sorry I can't be of better help.

Also, is that a 2.0 or a 2.5 shock? Maybe that might be a factor on how the shock is built as well.

This is the 2.0 coilover from f-o-a with the 1 1/4 width mount. The spacers are fully in and the mounting width on the shock is perfect at exactly 1 1/4. I think ill just have to do a little grinding to make them fit right.

Try to grind some material off the shock tabs. The 2.0 FOA must have slightly different specs on the machining of the top cap. Its hard to make universal fit with so many shock variations out there.

Pic of total chaos truss, for those who were wondering. Special thanks to a friend of mine for welding it in, same guy who welded my shock hoops. I had a go at it with his welder, but ended up dropping beads on the ground lol.

Awesome job on this truck dude, I have a trail gear ifs eliminator kit in my garage but my truck has changed directions and just from looking at your thread I'm sold on blazeland! I saw your running 33s, do you have very much more room to run bigger tires?
