Why not just run and get a used one? Or atleast go to a taurus fan? I wouldn't buy a new fan, if i were you. You're pretty local to me. I know rancho cordova is far, but it might be worth the drive to pick one up. I can give you a number to a few recycle yards, they might be able to ship one to you?

I've been trying not the drive the truck unless I have to. I'm afraid that the warped fan wobble is gonna cause the fan clutch to have premature bearing failure if I drive it long enough.

As far as the taurus fan, I'm probably never going to do an electric fan conversion. Haven't read a lot of good things about any electric fan.

Thanks, but I'm just gonna spend the money for a new one. I'll be having compensation from my last job coming in today. I have heard of the toyota yard in rancho cordova, I see the ad on craigslist all the time.

Honestly, I've spent a lot of time trying to fix this stupid fan wobble issue and I'd rather get a new one and not have to worry about it for a while.

Thanks man. It might work, but there are a few factors I'd worry about.

I'm sure the coil-over conversion shock hoops were designed to work only with the blazeland control arms. If you used the shock hoops with shorter stock arms, I don't know if you'd have the clearance to fit coil-over shocks. Take my pictures where I had to grind down some metal from the upper control arm to fit my shocks for example. Where could you weld the shock mount tab on stock control arms for proper shock installation?

All-in-all, I have no idea if it would fit. It would be cool if it does, but that's something to ask BlazeN8 himself.

If you want to lift it and put 35s under it, then go for it. I feel that every truck should have it's own personal touch to it.

Since you ask though, I'd say lifting it would be a waste of money. Long travel or SAS would be money well spent. Then you can worry about bigger muddin tires.

Edit: Nevermind, Guess he got banned or something.

Got the new fan. I got the one with the ring around it because there were part number issues, and there was no guarantee if it would be the right size.

Anyways, so I got it, and the new fan is even more warped than my old one! So, I give it a chance, and replace the old fan with the new. At first it straightened out, but then as I kept reving the engine up, it began to severely wobble way way worse than my old one.

So I have to send it back, had to buy a new one so I can get it right away because I have school. (Can't get a bus for the night class) I'll get refunded once they get the one from me. The guy helping me was nice though and gave me a wholesale discount along with 2nd day air for the price of ground shipping.

I'm just so tired, a little annoyed, and disappointed. Because, usually when something happens, I fix it once and it's done. But this little fan wobble......is driving me crazy. So I just left everything off so when the new one comes all I have to do is bolt everything in and add coolant.

Stupid Fan Update

So today, got another fan. Wasn't as warped as the other new one from before. Still not as straight as my old one though. Again, these are the ones with the outer ring on them. I installed it in the rain, it wobbled like crazy at high speeds.

So I called Olathe Toyota again, explained the situation and asked for a refund once I return them. I don't know if it's getting warped in the shipping from Kansas or what. The guy asked me about the fan clutch and fan bracket, I told him I got new ones before replacing the fan. He then proceeded to say that it was probably the cause of not buying a Toyota Fan Clutch and Bracket. Now, I want Toyota parts as much as the next guy, but it's expensive. Even if they are aftermarket parts they should work. I calmly just asked if I can return them and he agreed.

I've installed the old one back on and I'm just gonna run it. This fan issue has become the one simple thing that I can't fix.

Im just as confused as the Toyota guy. The fan clutch and bracket are the only things that I can think of. Unless one of your pullies is warped. But I have no clue. I'd hate to run idea's into your head and have you spend more money.

I could be wrong, the only reason I'm going for the fan is because they are not as straight as my old one is. What I mean is the the outer ring isn't as flat (when looking at it from the side), it's kind of "wavy" in some places on both the new ones and a little bit on my old one. Plus, the boxes they sent them in are barely big enough for the fans, which leads me to believe they got damaged in shipping. Either way, if it's the bracket, clutch, or fan. This fan issue hasn't been easy.

I should have. If I didn't put my VIN on the order form, I probably would have got the fan without the ring no problem.

Good thing next week is spring break. No school.

everyday is break for me ( besides work ) lol yeah my truck is having overheating issues ( only on the freeway ) I think its because I bought a new 3 row radiator and the fan shroud doesnt fit anymore. So its having air flow issues because of the circular fan. Its not funneling it like it should be without the shroud.

That's weird it overheats on the freeway, unless going up a hill or something. Because you'd think the high flowing air would cool it down more or something, but I wouldn't know. When I was buying the fans from a toyota dealership, they said that the outer ring fan had "better cooling properties" than the one without the outer ring. It makes sense, but if fans without the outer ring came out on later year models, I thought what does it matter.

Long story time: I just got back from my favorite NAPA store, just to buy brake shoes and brake drums to get my mind off the fan. My roommate and i go there frequently and he helps us both out a lot. Anyways, I mentioned the fan and my roommate told him about it too beforehand apparently. The guy who works there used to work for Toyota. So he wanted to help me out and get a fan to look at tomorrow from Toyota. It all happened so fast lol, he was already on the phone to call them. I asked him if they had one without the outer ring, but I don't think he knew what I meant. Anyways, it looks like tomorrow will determine if the problem is the fan or not.

I was really PO'd a while ago, but now I'm determined to fix anything on my truck to get 'er back to running normal again. I just think of all the good times and memories made in that truck and I'm determined to preserve them.

So agenda list:
* Fix Fan Wobble Issue once in for all
* Replace Rear Brake Drums and Shoes
* Put sealant on loose window trim at the top of the windshield
* Then next week go to Santa Cruz and have fun.

imo the ring on the fan is better. makes the fan blades stronger and creates a somewhat shroud as well. im working a 2007+ camry with e fan, both fans have rings around them so they are still used in newer models.

mak: you need the fan shroud but i dont think its the cause for overheat at high speeds. its not common but possible that the new radiator is bad. also check your hoses and radiator cap

I can see that, wish I knew what the problem with these fans I've been getting though. I don't know if it's normal for the outer rings to be wavy, but I guess I'll found out tomorrow.
