No rear bump, Rob...

Well, even fully stuffed, the Springs hadnt fully compressed. They would have to be some pretty tall stops, or bring the inverted tower down some. I will do some testing flex and take shots. I don't want to create unnecessary drama!

One thing I did notice, without a doubt, is that the passenger side front most leaf pack strap bolt is making serious contact with my fuel tank! :eek: I will get some pictures of that as well. I definitely love the Flex it currently has , but I want to do everything I can to prevent a crises, especially one that can occur in the middle of nowhere.

Thanks for bringing that to my attention again, bud! I keep forgetting stuff lately... Too much on my plate, everyday, all day. Lol.

You and I have a pretty close match to the rear suspension. I had added a 1-3/4" shim to my inverted tower with my old spring pack and after installing the new springs just kept it there. Last week I was at Deaver having them diagnose some driveline vibrations and Jeff noticed the bump stop configuration and though it was needing more shim. I did the calculations and he eyed it right! If you put a string from the front hanger bolt and the rear shackle lower bolt that gives you the flat arch location. Measure the main leaf to the string an that is your up travel before you go negative on the arch. Then its just a matter of measuring the top of the bump stop to the bottom of the inverted tower then shimming till you prevent the negative arch. If you read "Mantruck" or Albert's build thread you will see some of the shim and bump stop configurations we came up with. Check out my 4Runner build thread too.

In the next few days I hope to get the 3 degree shims I picked up from Deaver installed. I also have some massive 4" bump stops on a bracket that I will be installing. I'll post pictures when its all done on my build thread.

Finished cleaning up the top end of the Accords 2.2.... New Valve cover gasket, plug grommets/seals and cover bolt caps/seals. Sealed the corners and Cam-half moons.... THEN? Hahahah.....Of course, I had to ORDER the PCV valve and grommet. Not a single store had it and its grommet was TOAST. Shattered when removing it to wash the cover. Picked them up this AM, finishing that up and THENNNNNN?......on to the Oil pan gasket.....Uhgggg! Haha.

Have to drop the exhaust and trans inspection cover/bellhousing to get the pan out... Whatever.... Just hoping the rear main isn't compromised. If ao, that'll have to wait, no time to tackle that ATM. Not sure on the front main seal either.... I'm assuming it's a cakewalk compared to the rear main.

Anyone done any of this? (Front or rear main on the 16V 2.2 Honda Accord motor?). I got the Chiltons... been pretty helpful so far. I'll look it up as well. Just asking for the heck of it. Lol

Not on that exact engine but should be comparable to the toyota stuff you work with. Probalbly has special seal installer tool that would make it easier. I have to replace the rear main in my runner after rebuild and im hoping i can get the old one out and the new one in without removing the pan and rear main housing.

Hello Mr Husker! Glad to hear from you... Yeah, I'm sure it's similar, I just need to figure where the serpentine tensioner and belt is let up, crank bolt, Pull crank pulley, pull the seal, In with the new and call it Susie! I think considering a battery the sink is leaking everywhere, it would be stupid to reseal the whole top and and oil pan and not do the front seal while I'm down there. It looks as though there's an access panel that I need to remove and then it should come right off. I just have to, as I said, release the tension on the serpentine belt. Also, its an automatic, so I can't do my normal 5th gear trick on the crank bolt. However, it can't be too bad,... I will look it up in the book as to how many pounds it's down at.... I might just try the old breaker bar and hit with my half inch air impact. Every poll has seemed to have come loose fairly easily. That's probably because they're completely saturated in oil! Lol.

One thing that puzzles me... I can't be sure the front main is leaking at all. There is absolutely zero oil or oil residue on the back or sides of the crank pulley. I'm sure there is some type of slinger on there... But I could see the oil pan causing that type of residue. Anyway, I will look into how much more work it is and then I'm going to do anyway so I don't even know why I would bother looking it up other than for prerequisite homeschooling before assault! ... Hahaha.

Next, you have to pull the 3 exhaust collector nuts, for which I use an 8 inch extension and 14 inch long impact socket with my half inch drive air wrench..."pop, pop, pop, done"...

Cleaned quite a bit of it up, getting ready to pop the pan back on once I get the front main seal in hand tomorrow... It will drip dry all evening, and tomorrow as soon as I can get out there, I will hit it with facetone a little fine grit, then slap the new gasket in with most likely Toyota FIPK, as my FIPG. I'm sure they're all the same, but I have to say, it seems to me that it has sealed flawlessly this last time on my trucks oil pan and timing cover and everything else pretty much..... As I said, cleaned up in part.....

I'll be looking for a couple tips for popping the crank bolt on this automatic transmission - having Green Machine! Lol. Found quite a bit of good stuff on Honda-Tech.com ..... I think what I see up there on the cover, which is more of a plastic shield, is it's popped out where you can access the bolt... I'm sure that is just for rotating the crank. That cover would have to be removed anyway in order to get the crank pulley out far enough to even get to the seal ... But, once I pop a seal out it would sure make it easier to stick a seal driver handle through that hole and drive the new seal in.

I know, its not a Toyota, but its for my daughter, & I figure theres gotta be a couple people on here with the Honda. I gotta say, 1 terribly easy job compared to pulling the pan on my IFS truck, before!

I am somewhat surprised at how many people on the Honda Tech forum complained of what a pain in the butt this was. I guess compared to other Hondas?

Not a lot of information on the Crank seal, so I need to look at another site and then go out and grab a book to take a look as well. I think people are also mention the distributor o-ring as being a pretty badly leaker as well. I know it was leaking pretty bad from the valve cover, so hopefully that will help. The entire gasket, which was covered in sealant, was saturated in oil. I'm guessing that they didn't clean the surfaces very well. Or a pan was the same, and from the members on there that seem to have a lot of posts, most of them say not to use sealant except for the corners. Actually, they say it's not necessary, but it can't hurt...? I just don't want to go through all this and then have it leaking like a pig right away. Lol. It looks like a lot of people have a problem with this will pan cracking as well, and some of them say it's because exhaust runs right underneath it? It does literally hug the pan. Seems kind of odd but I guess you have to put things where they fit. Seems as though the drain bolt is very common problem is well. It did come out where it was a little tough on each turn. Others mentioned that looks like the oral filter was sleeping but it was actually coming from somewhere else above. I'm going to take a better and closer look.

Almost forgot,... Gotta replace those collector donuts before I slap it back together. And thennnnnnnn I can slap it all together. By the way, the crank bolt spec is 159 pounds! Lol. Totally fooled me... I never woulda guessed that.

Prisoners was A SICK movie! Hugh Jackman and Jake Gillenhall were amazing! Mom loved it too, ...great bonus! Lol.

Really looking forward to American Hustle, as well. Christian Bale is nearly unrecognizable! Bradley Cooper had a sick 70's perm, too! Haha.

I filled the Honda with oil, just gonna wait til daylight tostart it up and run it roud to heat it up and hope for the best.

Looks mighty clean, Mark! Inspires me to do the Oil pan gasket on our Civic as well. Pls do post how you deal with the front main seal.

BTW, Ruby Tuesday came out of shop after rebuild, and altho I drive with a very light foot, because it's break-in period, I can feel the restored power .

Hey guys,... I was going to share some pictures of my day with Abbygail and my daughter, enjoying the pumpkin patch / Animal Farm... I probably will tomorrow... But for now, I just wanted to ask for thoughts and prayers for a family friend.....

My sister called me tonight, very upset, and as she caught her breath, she told me that my niece Molly's best friend, Kelsey, a 13 year old girl that is probably one of the sweetest things I've ever met... She passed away after 6 days in the hospital, fighting a cold that went to her lungs, and then suddenly, caused rapid heart failure!

I can't imagine what her family is going through, and my niece has spent 3 to 4 days a week with her for the last 10 years... She is literally like family.

Thanks so much for your thoughts and prayers, guys. They're very appreciated!....

Thanks, so much, fellas! ....

My sister is beside herself, my niece, Molly, is completely distraught, and the girls family,....obvious.

There are only so many things I can say in a situation like this. It happens to all of us ..... But, my niece is so young and kind and loving.... Seeing her broken is just horrible. My older niece, Emily, is also really messed up by this. My sister, Keri and Brother in law, Jim(and the kids)?... They all just lost Jims father, ....horribly, to Leukemia.... And, the man I mentioned just recently, Jim Maier? ..... He was like an uncle and brother to them, a great man and friend and in their life, everyday, for 20 years... Also passed away, just recently, from leukemia..... They are not alone in having to deal with multiple losses, but that doesn't make it any easier to deal with.

I think I should temper that sad news of a young life lost with some sharing of a young life just getting started...

I took my granddaughter and daughter for my granddaughters second Halloween ever! We went to a big pumpkin patch, with an animal farm, up in Torrance, California. My granddaughter had so much fun,... and of course, so did we! Lol. We also went out to eat at Acapulco Restaurant, where like most adults do from time to time, my granddaughter barely ate a thing, and then Dug right in to the Fried ice cream! Lol.....
