Best wishes with that, Red! Sounds like a challenge but anything is possible. Maybe you could take an old cruise control modulator that has a mini vac system on the back... Just remove the entire housing and hook up the vacuum pumps. It has wiring to it and everything... Doesn't the a.d.d work the same way or maybe opposite? In other words, like I was explaining about the refrigerator door working differently the my 4 wheel drive button in that one makes contact when released and the other makes contact when depressed?.....

Just a thought, but I do have my old cruise control actuator and pump. I think I can safely say that the diaphragms are toast. So, maybe you could use the pump? Heck, you could probably come up with something brand new that's better off... When you delete the a.d.d do you remove everything or just are left with the vacuum lines?

No, the ADD is already gone along with my ABS.

I just have to get it wired so that it turns the light on with only one switch activated. I should also pull out all the ABS wiring or at least the light in the dash.[

****************************************

For some reason, it is a lot easier to grab something that should be and hopefully will be a positive upgrade... Rather than putting brand new $200 parts on in a hope that it might help. The only reason I haven't grabbed the cold start injector time switch just yet is because...

1. I'm just doing a little more research, &

2. I remembered that when it was doing its drama I disconnected the cold start injector time switch connector... It didn't change a thing. I then ran it for a while with a disconnected turned it off came back to the truck and it did the same thing. I can't understand how something like that could engage the ECU and create a gremlin like that if its not even plugged in... I'm not trying to be a smart ass, but I just really wish that someone could explain that to me.

Hey Chef,

Wish I had something constructive to contribute other than that I've been following all along the way still just very little time to comment. Everything looks great and I hope you can squash your persistent little gremlins.

Chef - here's a link to testing the cold start timer if you haven't already seen this: http://home.earthlink.net/~twopapa/toyefi.htm

If the switch is working, perhaps your actual cold start injector itself is leaky. There is a test in the FSM that specifies how many drips is allowed when off.

Going to try and wrap up a few things today.

I want to get the heater hoses and steering hoses changed out. I was gonna get the CSI Time Switch in at the same time, but I've not had time to see which place I wanted to order it from. I was thinking maybe I should change out the hose and bleed her.... I figured if there was an air bubble sitch, I might as well rule that out.

That brings me to wanting to try and rule things out one at a time... Only because so many other times I've done multiple things at once... And then I have no clue as to which thing fixed my problem at the time.

Was speaking to Dragon, on the phone, and I mentioned that my tailpipe was quite black and that when it is running chunky I seem to remember it as stinking pretty bad. I will try to check that today and make sure that is the case. The reason I want to make sure is that I want to know if its a rich or lean problem. I never once have had a poof of smoke, while encountering this gremlin of rough idle at warm restarts.

I will likely end up just replacing the closer to record time switch for now... But I'm trying to figure out how to verify whether my thermo temp time switch number 2 on the thermostat housing is the right 1. I still can't find the damn receipt... Which is very unusual for me.

I'm just curious if anyone knows an answer to something..

I know I mentioned it before, but when I am experiencing this gremlin and i unplug the cold start injector and the thermo temp time switch number 2 connectors ,... Nothing changes at all. Does that mean anything? I should know the answer to this but for some reason I get the feeling that it could go either way if something unplugged causes the ECU to decide to just stick with a preset adjustment.

Ok, found this as well (MR2 forum... But also found others in 83 87 Toyota truck section and so forth)....

"Ok -- so I swapped out the water temperature sensor and the opposite side switchpart numbers 89422-12010 & 89428-28030 . This has taken care of the problem.˟Overall - had to buy/use a deep socket 19mm & 17mm to take them off (darn 3 trips to Ace hardware to get the right ones). I removed the battery & air pipe, socketed the part off - unscrewed by hand and reclaimed the washer - put liquid gasket on the new piece - screwed it back in. I was surprised to only lose like 6 tbsp of coolant as well as maybe 2 tbsp from the other side.Hooked it all back up, turned it over and all good. Did the check engine code with a paper clip and it's flashing once now (ALL GOOD).˟"

Feeling that way, even with the single left "possible solution", the CSI Time Switch..... And yes I realize it has to be something or another, right? Lol. I've also found a bulletin regarding the damper on the funeral. Not sure have a lot to do with hot soak but it was mentioned in the same hot soak bulletin. Fuel pressure regulator was also mentioned in the same post and explained what Toyota did to fix it which was quite if your credit if you did it yourself instead of ordering the part. You have to drill and put a half pipe sleeve into the fuel pressure regulator fuel line or some crap like that. Anyway, I did the term in today that my cold start injector times which is in fact the outdated version...

I cannot find a part number on my thermo temp time switch but I'm fairly certain that this one was the replacement that I got that cost around 20 bucks at the dealer with a discount... The one on the thermostat housing. I seem to have the receipt for it, & I don't seem to be able to find another receipt that shows I returned it. For some reason I felt like I have returned it... I can't remember what exactly it wasn't I return so I'm kinda screwed on that because my buddie's retired.

While I am taking a few moments here and there to try and find this burger, I am also getting other stuff done... Quick fix and its in there cleanly and tightly and reconnected... I'm good to go.

I also have another VSV that I would like to try and see if it fixes my AC Idol up problem. The only thing that I can think of is the VSV is just not holding up after the truck warms up. It works when its cold... But will not cut it after its warmed up for about 10-15 minutes.

I also have another throttle body, but this one is extremely clean inside and all the ports seem to be operating properly. Not to mention at one point I did have my air idle screw almost all the way in and it was running perfectly.

As my kids use to say... Whateverrrrrrrrrrrrr! Lol

Then I dug up the TPS connector I got from Terry (THANK YOU, BIG TIME, BUDDY!....I MEAN IT, Terry, you always come through when you can....and I'm grateful for ya.....And grateful for a lot more than parts!)

I spent quite a bit carefully heat stripping the wires on the connector as there was at most an inch! lol.... Freaked me out! Haha......

Soldered 4 extension wires in to the connector-side shorties......

Soldered the 2 together and I HAD A NICE, CLEAN set up with a lil more length and a new connector with retainer clip....Wooot! hehe...

Thanks buddy... I'm surprised, having to lean over in my truck and solder for an hour and a half really took it to my feet! I don't know what happened... I woke up and was like... "Pain and exhaustion from doing Electrical?" I know, part of its getting old . HAHAHAHA! Feels better knowing that's secure and a bit more weatherproof.

Speaking of weather proof, that's my only hesitation in mounting a compressor on the frame ... Granted, its not going through streams everyday... But, while I know its built to stand up to the elements, it just feels illogical 2 leave it mounted outside of the truck all year round.....??? I mean if its just a relay or something cheap like that, I wouldn't even think about it. I guess I'm just curious what people think on that one.

Going to take it for a spin today I hope it doesn't leak... What else can I say? Lol

don't mount it on the underside because it will rust and corrode. relays only last a few months, at best, so i'd be a bit more concerned about a compressor. i'd love to do something like what rb did with the trunk box. that would keep it totally watertight (depending on the seal used for cable and air hose pass-throughs).

your stretching using your toes an foot arch to push yourself higher and to retain your balance on a high spot its an unconscious reaction thus more muscle an bone movement than normal aggravating the issues in your feet

after losing 1/4 of my right foot i cant take a shower without having to hold onto the curtain rod or lean on the wall to lean my head back foot issues effect balance
