I want this so bad.... but they either dont have the 1st gen 4runner or even 5'10" bed, or they're on backorder through spring........

http://www.truckairbedz.com/store/?C1=Toyota

Btw, I am only stating I want it, not really a "need" thing, lol.

Nooooooo! >>>> "Now that is just SICK!!!!", C'NONNNNNNN, a admit it. .. That thing is so nice! Haha... The key is SPACE, ya know? This takes far less than my 4" thick firm density foam that is just wore out pretty much.

I have a good twin, but they're too long for the 4runner(74" or something like that). Was looking for a kids air matress...., but they can't take my weight in the twin series).....Then theres these...

http://www.cabelas.com/catalog/ensem...FYpDMgod5lAAnQ

Or these.....

http://www.cabelas.com/product/Colem...h-All+Products

But THESE!...... perfect........ 62" long, 41"wide and 6" tall,.. AND 600# CAPACITY!

http://www.cabelas.com/product/Colem...h-All+Products

NOOO, I'm not 600#, hahaha.... more like 235# right now... but still coming down.......VERYYYYY SLOWLY in my 40's compared to how easily it was shed in my 20's! Haha.... and ....With the seats folded forward, its like 64". I think I gave the measurements to Richard when he was shopping. If I am blessed enough to find a lady again, I will definitely be doing a truckairbedz model or the like. Just better to have all the corners filled.

I love my 4" foam, but its not space saving in a roll.

I finally tried out my Coleman 4# fill 30*f bag... ended up sleeping on top of it with a sheet over me at the Tierra Del Sol Annual Desert Safari Event, lol. I dont get cold easily, but also? ....THAT INSULATION WORKED WONDERS, GUYS! VERRRRRRY much helped with the noise of ppl riding farty quads and 2 strokes through the whole night and heavy in the morn.

For the Sierras and Sequoias, even at this point of year.... a sheet? OH HECKZZZZ NO! Haha. And I leave the windows cracked but seal them with fine mesh HD screen cutouts I got at Lowes. Works AWESOME to allow ventilation in the HOT Sierra summers.

Speaking of which, I would love to do a trip or two this summer to the Sequoias and Sierras. Up through Kern to upper Kern and Lower and Upper Peppermint, some rapids fun, tons of wheeling up there. Then there is great wheeling in the OHV DUNES near Olancha, off the road to Death Valley from the 395hwy. Over there is the Dolomite mines and the Owens river ALL along the way.... Then up to Keough Hot Springs and Tinnemaha Camp a couple miles south when nit soaking. Sometimes, when I'm doing a week or two I will also hit Mammoth Hot Creek and all that beauty hot springs in the wilderness stuff..... ITS MY FAVORITE place to "escape" throughout my life.

Anyway, just a lil tangent...... as, well, while I do enjoy working on and improving ole Ruby-Redrum.... I DO ALL OF THAT, hopefully, that I may not only enjoy the wheeling..... But MORE SO, for the adventures there and therein! Getting photographs of, well, just the majestic AWE that is not in my backyard, like many of you, thankfully, regularly enjoy. I'M IN L.A., and I'm one that works hard, but works TO LIVE, not lives to work.... EVEN ON MY RIG! lol.... That too is a means to a result of something better, thereafter said work! Yeah? I would rather drive a pinto to the hot springs and mountain hiking areas in the sierras and camp for a week 5 times a year...... than drive my rig only to wheel for day or overnight trips 10 times. Its not for everyone.... more bugs, bears, mountain cats getting curious (very rarely).... but the BEAUTY? THE UNREAL KICK ARSE BEAUTY all around u while sitting in a natural hot spring??? Ohhhhh yeahhhhh, baby! This was my view from the spring at 11pm last trip.......

Then our camp....

I GOTTA GET ME SOME BEFORE ITS 100+*F..... and then during it too! Haha. Thats usually when I do upper peppermint near Kings Canyon.....

http://www.world-of-waterfalls.com/c...eek-falls.html

Ahhhhhhhhhhh! Lol

Oooh, check it out, I edited that post! Haha.

Which one, the truckairbedz blue thing? BA, RIGHT?!?!?

MAKE SURE u get dimensions and get the right one! Our 1st gen 4runners are SHORT, and the lil knib beyond the wheel well is verrrrrry small! Why wouldnt they make that, ya know??? Soooo many would grab em!

Oh, and I forgot to mention that I test it out my theory , that the heater core actually being in use circulating coolant with the heater on might of had something to do with the rig not doing that funky thing where is it runs really low rpm during warm restarts. You know, maybe cuz coolant wasn't circulating due to an air bubble, etcetera. I could still have an air bubble causing a problem, but unlike the last time when it did not run chunky upon restarting with the heater on, this time it did.

Oh well, I still have to replace multiple heater hoses, and I want to try that different heater control valve anyway, so back to the drawing board.

Yea the truck bed, looks to be for my specific year, wait what got edited ? Weird.

But yea at my camping gig last year I had a Coleman air mattress that fit in between my wells and it sucked!!! So uncomfortable, had to stuff pillows on the sides so the wells weren't diggin into my sides. This looks perfect.

**************************************

Not what I wanted to see, but its me, so I will not be happy unless its all all pristine and working.

I feel its logical to deduce that the easier moving heater control valve will elongate the time span before this ever happens again, if not eliminate it all together. OY! Grrrrr

PROJECT CON-FERR/THULE.... DONE!

I TOTALLY, COMPLETELY have faith in the seal it has around everything within the side rails and roof now.... NO STORM, save tearing my topler right off with it, will ruin my headliner/nights sleep in the woods due to torrential downpour>>>> UPON MY HEAD! Hahaha.

Done-diggity-done!

"Look at that awesome scenery! Hey where do you think you're going you can't get out!" I can see how it might get a little stir-crazy going being stuck in the rig all day AND night. That is what dinner time and social hour is for!

Haha. ... Yeah, it depends, but it can go either way. But wh when I only have a couple days, and ESPECIALLY, on top of that, if I'm setting up at night....

Usually, I will set up the tent if I arrive during the day, then I have 2 optinons. This rocks because I can set up the tent in the shade, then store my gear in there and cruise the rig to my spots for day use, caring the bare minimum for the day trip.

I gotta tell ya, Toyo,.... The insulation mod was 100% WORTH IT! It was HOT that last trip by early AM the first morn there.... I was totally comfy in there! It'll be even better when I get the front doors all done. One things for sure. .... when I've camped in the snow/serious cold, in the high Sequoias & Sierras in the winter, I was ALWAYS way warmer in the 4Runner.

Posting for reference as it will definitely need to be done soon, as I'm taking 10 minutes to get heat.... and the gurgling up in the dash.

http://forum.ih8mud.com/79-95-toyota...re-change.html

I have to dig up Terry's write ups on the removal stuff as well..... and I already have to dig in quite a bit to get the climate control cable assembly swapped in(old one out)

... Ugh! Lol. Rewarding job, but not something I would consider "fun", lol.

I can swap in the climate cable assembly without the total dash removal..... I know cuz I've done it in the yard with this donor I have.... But the CORE? Niet! Hehe.

The gurgling has me concerned that I might be developing a leak in the CORE. I could just swap in the new hoses, burp it well and then put in the control assembly and control valve..... but to go through all that and only find, maybe shortly down the road, the heater core snaps a big leak? Maybe the valve isss limiting flow, and maybe the tiny leak in the hose in the engine bay is what caused air to get in and allow gurgling and occasional spritz of fluid on the windshield..... AHHHHHHH! HATE ALL THE VARIABLES! Haha.... also hate not having a quickly hot and blisotering hot heater when I want it. Ima dig in there really well and see if there is any rust or liquid up in the dash area.

Might as well plan on it being everythinnnnng wrong, right? I mean, every time I dont I'm really disappointed! Hahaha
