Update:Not big, but FINALLY!

Marine 6 Post Fuse Block

Well, I had a Distribution block to return at Signal Electronics(It's one of those stores, here in the south bay, L.A., that most places refer you to when trying to find 'ONE OF THOSE' things, hehehe.) ....... They didn't have a Blue Sea Brand or otherwise fuse block, similar to Ian's(Irab).... So I just traded it in for some connectors. I then went to Home Depot and got some Self Tapping Screws to mount the Marine Fuse block I planned on ordering from Ebay/Amazon, whatever, ....and then I looked to my right and remembered, "RV/Trailer and Marine Supplies, Lomita, CA"..... Stopped by there and picked up a DelTech Marine 6 Post/Screw Type Fuse Block, to clean up all the stuff that's running off my positive terminal. It's a plug type fuse block with slots for spares, .......and I'm really happy that I AT LEAST GOT SOMETHING going on my rig again! hahaha....

I'll be running a 4G/Shorty Negative Wire that has the fixed hoop ends, which should be a really good connection from the Positive Terminal Top Post of the battery to the Marine Fuse Box. Plus, I will be doing a good write up on installing this thing and the Aux 12V Plugs that I'll be fixing to the bottom of the Radio Bezel(or side of it, more likely, for 'stability as I push in a 12V male plug) and one, most likely, on the side/rear of the console(for ease of access for rear passengers or ME, while I'm back there, camping).

I'll also be running a Fixed Post with 2 Prongs/Covered to the inside of the Cargo Panel in the very rear, where I can simply open the cover and attach my 750W inverter up(for things that need more power, near the tailgate)... It doesn't have a 12V Car Plug type connector....(most over 400W that I've seen don't come with Car Plug type adapters, as I've been told it's too much heat/amperage to run through those, especially if you're running a Coffee Maker or something that takes more juice, etc.... RIGHT? Lol). BUT, I will also run an Aux 12V Car Type plug adapter from there, that will plug and unplug as needed on trips.... This way, I can plug in my 400W Tailgate Inverter with the shorter car type adapter attached to it for things that might push IT a lil more than usual. This will leave me 2 posts(I'll already have my Power Antenna and KC lights on the Fuse Block)...which I'll use for WHATEVER, but most likely for the Relay/s for the Lights I might be adding in the rear and on the roof(I want good back up 4"ers or something... I'VE ALWAYS ended up needing them, and this summer, I plan to FINALLY use my rig again, like I used to, which is running LIKE A TOP/NOT A DROP! Maybe run 2 on the roof rack(rectangle style in the Portal-Con-Ferr or Light Bar if I decide to just do it more like RBX/S10 style! lol).

I'm also wanting to thank you for your thoughts, and in some cases, prayer.... My Stepdad is not doing GREAT, but much more independent... This is giving me a lil more free time, which I DESPERATELY need!(not just for sanity, but also practicality, trust me! lol)...

AND; I REALLY want to be able to mount my Con-Ferr, but I ALSO REALLY like the S10 Rack that RBX is running.... It's just something that I would probably use FAR more often, around town/less expeditious trips/ etc., .... but I KNOW that I'll want the Basket for the bigger trips, so I might have to Sell the Con-Ferr and go for something more manageable/lighter, like a Yakima Load Warrior. We'll see.... I really like this Con-ferr cuz it's SOLID and it's 60x42, which covers the entire shell, pretty much... VERY practical for getting all of my lighter/bulkier gear up there and out of the rear.

AND; I found a "Swiss" Brand Waterproof Roof Carrier Bag, which would work REALLY well on top of the S10 Rack, ya know? Is 24$ a good deal for that BAG? It's 35x48" or something like that(I'll get pics next time I'm at BigLots )

AND; I'm working on some sliders with a kickout from a guy who wrecked that I know.... I'll post on that as I find out/if I find out he's not going to keep them.

BTW; THANKS, IAN! lol.

I got a good laugh off of RMP8080 post. Thanks for the recipes. I will be trying them very soon. Will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Electrical is not my strongest point, so cant help you in that area. Of all of the electrical gremlins I have dealt with, I should be a pro.

Thanks, man... Yeah. Well, mom is doing 'ok', ....but it's really wearing her down, to say the least! I'll explain a lil more at the end, regarding him.

COOL! Lemme know how you like em, for sure! I'll post more, I PROMISE! lol... Just still really busy. Don't worry bout it, I'll get it.... When I put my mind to anything, it's GONNA happen! lol. Granted, this isn't some big deal, but it's REALLY COOL to me! hahaha... Seriously, I LOVE cleaning things up, ya know? Plus, it's FAR more practical..... I mean, I can add ANYTHING to those 2 open ports, any time, anywhere, ... EASILY, ya know? That can't hurt, right?

Thanks, buddy! HOpe you're well!

************************************************** **********

OK, so, ....regarding my Step-Dad.... ;

I think I jumped the gun on "He's doing better"........ It's clearly an "IN AND OUT/good days and bad"..... But it's also clear that, upon some reflection(they asked me to really dig into the past a bit)..... He's worse than I've EVER seen him, aside from the passing out that was caused by the Aortic Stenosis.

1.) His mind is just SOOOO slow, .... Not all the time, but often.

2.) Related to #1, but his speech is REALLY hard for him, fishing for words, etc. He's stuttering a bit, which isn't TOTALLY unusual... but he's not gotten any better since 'AFTER' the surgery, and in fact, at times, it's MUCH worse, where only I can understand him.

3.) He's SO WEAK, especially in the legs. This is largely to do with the carnage brought about by diabetes/failure to manage it very well on his own for years.

4.) His feet are swollen. It's a type of squishy swollen... which yes, I know, is usually a sign of 'heart' issues. His heart's had a major overhaul... but damage to the tissue could still be there... And he STILL has many narrow arteries in the legs, etc..

5.) His balance is terrible!!! Very dangerous

6.) Even more dangerous, he's failing, almost 100%, in 'recall'.... You have to tell him EVERYTHING, over and over, each time he does it.(Things we take for granted, like turning, reaching down to support himself while bending the knees, learning forward.... Things like getting up from a chair/bed at night, etc.).

7.) He's STILL, to this day, since surgery, walking with the walker WAY in front of him, and shuffling, while keeping his feet really close together... This, which I REALLY am concerned about, is a LIST(especially the last couple and first couple) of "Symptoms of Parkinson's Disease".... That is a post, all in and of itself... But obviously, that would be VERY bad.

8.) What could be even worse? Well, his recent bloodwork came back... He has two questionable 'protein levels in the blood'..... and one, which is usually very telling, is almost always a sign of 'Bone Marrow Disorders'...... Yes, even leukemia. (They will be digging into that, more so, within the next week/He also has more tests to do, ordered by the Neurologist, such as CT-Angio, MRI-Lumbar Spine, and more).

It's really sad....But, HE'S LARGELY caused his quality of life, for quite some time, to be AWFUL! ...... Totally unnecessarily! They've(the Doctor/Specialists) been warning him, for YEARS, about almost everything that's occurred. But, like many men and women, today,..... they DO NOT TRUST ANY Doctors! I know, they're not all great, .....but hey, they've tried to save him from much of this, many times, and very well could have!... ya know?

I really PRAY this is not Leukemia OR Parkinson's..... They're both VERY horrible, vicious diseases. The Neurologist is not leaning toward Parkinson's, ....but it's not ruled out, either.... :>/

PS> I will keep any updates on him a lot more brief, from here on out... I just thought I'd throw it out there. I mean, SOMEONE might see some of this and say, "Hey, I need to get 'whomever' in to get a thorough checkup, they've been avoiding it far too long".... And that would be WELL worth it, ya know? It's so hard to see things getting worse, at times, when we're around the same people so often, ya know?

Take care, y'all!

As man it was hard for me to read through this. As always your paragraphs always have clear description of everything you have to say. Good thing he's doing better then before. Let's all hope for the best.

Damn chef...

I know what you mean about folks not listening to their docs... [just letting this out in the open now] I lost my mom in Jan. quite suddenly [less than 24 hrs from ok to bye bye] turns out she had off the chart cholesterol # and COPD from smoking her whole life... still waiting for final path. results from autopsy...
her doc apparently had been begging her to get a blood test and xray for ages but she would not...
IDK why she refused... scared to know the truth I guess...
ironically [she was so proud of herself] she quit smoking 6 days before she was rushed to H...

as to your dad protein disorders could also be an issue with his liver which given his diabetic issue is not unexpected... also might explain a lot of his other problems... ie poisons and waste usually filtered out by the liver are building up and sending bad info to the brain or getting in the way of "good' signals from his CPU...

the recall problems are probably due to a combination of the drugs/age/poison build-up and other related health issues...

try to stay positive as long as he's this side of the divide there's a chance he can recover...

and don't forget to take good care of yourself... get your rest [use a sleeping pill if you need to knock yourself out you need your rest, I used one every night for a week after my mom passed... still do now and then tell the truth it helps keep the ghosts at bay]...
eat properly and well... and occupy your mind with things you can control like you kitchen... if you need to talk to some one I'm here...

Like I said stay positive... positive life energy usually repels negative life energy and your dad need + now... tell him again and again about your grand son... he's a great grand dad now and he needs to live up to the title...

Chef, your caring nature comes clearly through in postings about your step-father. Keep your spirits up. While your step-father may not be healed, hopefully the doctors find something that helps to smooth out the good and bad days.

Aviator, sorry about the sudden loss of you mother. My dad has survived two strokes now and the third one....well, probably, will be his last. Sad thing is he's only 70 non-smoker, non-drinker, but diabetic and overweight for many years with weak longevity genes.

We all can benefit from heeding aviator's sage advice on taking care of ourselves.
