Saturday I cleaned the injectors. It fairly easy and really gets them cleaned. I replaced all the o-rings and on they went. Here is a video of how I did it on my MR2:

The engine is slowly coming together. All the parts are clean except the hoses nuts and bolts. I've been cleaning those by hand. I still manage to get my nice clean engine dirty. Oh well.











I hope to have the engine ready to go in next Saturday the 17th. Between then and now I've got to add all the little sensors vacuum lines and and replace the wire looms in the bell housing.

I found this part. What is it and where does it go?

tis a water line. i never found a gasket for that. i think you can use a coolant-compatible o-ring. i used a little bit of black rtv, and no leaks in a year of driving

Thanks. I've been sick so I just thew the engine in and connected up what I could. I still have a lot of cleaning to do on the wires.

I started adding coolant and it started to drain out from where the engine block and the transmission meet up. That did I miss?

Check the rear coolant blockoff plate. Also the hoses for the heater.

On post #83 I just get a rubber o-ring for it and put the bolts in.

As far as the water leak, ar you sure your heater hoses are hooked up? There is a plate on the back of the head. I think it has the possibility of leaking water. It is such a pain in the rear, I always put sealant and a gasket to make sure I dont have to try and get to it again, excpet to bolt the water pipe to it.

I was just scanning the most recent post on 86-95 and seen yours. Let me know what hoses or wiring and I can try and post some pics tomorrow.

all the hoses are connected and everything above the oil pan is dry. I drained the oil and no water came out.

Did i forget some gasket seal or not torque something? I'd hate to have to pull the engine out again.

That would make it leak!

I think you can see the block drain plug on the rear drivers side in this pic. Not sure if you had already figured that out.

I'm going to be pulling the engine this weekend. Damn freeze plug.

Here are some electrical connections that I have not found where they plug into to. They are all on the drivers side.







Here are a few vacuum lines I'm having trouble finding where they should go.

I tried to start it up. I heard the starter try to turn for about half a second then it stopped. Then next couple of times I header it try to turn a little but nothing. The starter does have the power and ground wires attached. Any ideas?

If it clicks u have a loose connection or a weak or dead battery

I've done a bit of research on in and found several solutions including what you mentioned. As I was reading them I was thinking, I knew that why didn't I think of it.

Battery tested good so I'll throw it back in and tap the starter a bit with a hammer. Try rolling the truck a bit. If that doesn't work I'll clean and test the connections. If it still doesn't work I'll replace the starter with one from the pick an pull. If that still doesn't work I'll rebuild my starter.

Also did u check ur battery with a volt reader? Because if half the battery dies it will still read 12volts but wont have any cranking amps... a parts store near u aught to check it for free and they will beable to tell u...that happened to me in a ranger i use to own... the soleniod happened on a chevy... lots of problems ive had lol
