Big Bear's 90 4X4 3vze Runner, POS to DD Build

Bought a 90 4X4 v6 SR5 Runner for a grand.

It was very neglected, fried clutch, running on 3 cylinders, leaking PS fluid, coolant, gear oil.

Drove it home, 90 miles with a 6500ft elevation gain, pedal to the metal 35mph in 2nd gear up the hill, it did 60mph on the flats.

Pulled the heads.

Sent the heads in for service.
They said I had 7 bad valves, all exhaust and 1 intake leaking.
But no cracks and the surface was good.

Had them do a valve grind, replace valve seals and adjust the valves. $500.

Brought them the block in for a rebuild. $650.

Tranny and transfer case had 10mm of petrified dust a gear oil on them.

PS fluid totally coating the front of the under carriage.

Cleaned them up, put in a new input seal in the tranny.
