I pulled off the old school below the axle U-bolt mounted shock plates from the 1985 that inspired me. It had limit straps but I decided to omit on my version. I also didn't like the big bolt aspect. I though the double shear tabs on 1-1/2" DOM seemed stronger and more simplified. I don't know how long that setup was on the 85 but judging from the shocks and straps it must have been early 1990's. To bad the bottom eye mount of the shock had stripped threads. It let the shock pop off and hang down. When that happened it got dragged over something and caught up and bent the shaft. When I tried straightening (the second time it happened) it snapped. Oh well time for an upgrade.

That kit looks great, and my blood boils thinking of it! I do have a question for the OP and / or Blazen8:
What about the wider stance up front not matching the rear? Would you recommend wheel spacers in the back, or perhaps a different offset in the front? Or a combination of both?

I'm interested in this kit for way down the line on my 2004 turbo diesel Hilux.

Wheel adapters have been a good remedy for me and most of my customers. The Mantruck has 1.5" adapters in the rear. My 4 Runner has 2". My Fordota has 3". So far I have not had or heard of anyone having issues with the Toyota 6 Lug 5.5" bolt circle. My buddy with a 1966 Ford Bronco Roadster (5 lug 4.5" bolt circle) had 1.5" adapters on the front end that may not have been properly torqued come off on the freeway doing 60 mph.He was able to maintain control and pull to the shoulder but the wheel with attached adapter continued on flew off the overpass and embedded in a vans windshield below. It was a insurance claim nightmare and last I heard the settlement was 16K. So the moral is be careful to follow torque guidelines and check periodically. A Tacoma rear axle is a good swap as it is 3" wider and has an E-locker.

Alba, that was a fun trip! You have some good skills when it comes to off roading. Mechanical repairs, beer drinking, jump selection, and you can drive the Mantruck like a pro!

Hey YotaWoRx,

I was trying to do a search for "Blazeland" and its coming up with hundreds of threads now. I am creating a bump on threads that are pertinent to the subject. I'm marking them with keywords. I am using "Blazelander2013" if its a rig that actually has a Blazeland kit or good related info.

I found a picture from the boys trip last month. It was fun cruising around the desert and camping out for a couple of days. Didn't you have a Go Pro attached to your windshield? You should post that here or on YouTube.
