I spoke to Albert and his father just passed away. My condolences! He will be taking care of family matters for a while. As far as the rear suspension of the ManTruck I found him a set of Downey 3" Lift Springs. He will probably want to do a write up when time and mood allow, in the meantime I met with Deaver Springs and they have designed a rear spring pack that I think you guys will like. I am starting a build thread on my 4 Runner, "BlazeN8's 1986 4Runner Build-Up Thread" check it out!

Build-up thread for sure. It will probably take a few weeks to get the shocks and torsion bars, but as soon as I have everything in hand it will be done. Also once completed Ill make a video of it going through its paces on a rough dirt road.

not too many whoops around here mostly just rocky 4x trails. Weve got the San Juan Mountains only a half hour away and theres some good flex places to get some shots of the crawling aspect. Oh just remembered the flattop ohv prk here in town, its more like a dirtbike track with some good whoops maybe Ill take it out there too.

I've been watching this post for some time now. I subscribe to 4WD Toyota Owners Mag. and they have a series called the Grugde Mach, IFS 4runner vs a SA 4runner. They talk about putting a Long Travel on the IFS rig in Nov's issue. I was hoping they wouldn't go with a high end Long Travel, I was pleased to see that in March's issue they went with Blazeland's LT. Your product looks like a great way to go(if you don't want to SAS). I can't wait to see how it stands up to the SA 4runner. Nice to see the little guy get a chance.
Good Luck!!!

I'd like to get the Blazeland Deluxe kit $975, and have it put on my 1986 Toyota xcab truck. I have the March/April issue of 4wd Toyota Owner and this looks like a cheaper option than doing a SAS.
As I would have a shop do it for me, what might they charge to do this? Certainly it would be cheaper labor than doing a SAS because they wouldn't have to drop the whole front end.
Does anyone have a clue as to what the labor would be to put the Blazeland Deluxe kit on?
And also curious as to how much the labor would be for a complete SAS , as far as labor prices, which would I be better off having done for the money involved....? How much more would it cost to get a SAS done?
It comes down to compromises , since I use my 86 Toyota as a daily driver and it rarely sees off-road, I might be better off getting a Blazeland kit, awww hell....I don't know what I want, I need to see some prices first.

The shop I send my local O.C. customers to do the install charges $300. Installation of the Deluxe kit is the same proceedure as replacing factory LCAs, UCAs, Tie Rod Adjusting Sleeves, Brakelines, T-bars, CVs, and shocks. Any shop or individual who can perform those task can install the Blazeland kit. Most of my customers do the install themselves, refere to a shop manual and its a no brainer. Once everthing is installed an alignment is also needed.
To perform a SAS requires a great deal more specialized skill and equipment. Plasma cutting, welding, and fabrication are required for the SAS. I contacted Eric at Yota Maters http://www.yotamasters.com/ and the labor for a SAS is listed on the website.
Yota Masters has a great reputation and performs quality work. Contact Eric for more information on all sorts of custom Toyota work as well as routine maintenance proceedures. I'm meeting with him next week to go over the installation cost for a Blazeland LT. I'll get back to you guys next week with more information.

Two weeks Mantruck and I met up in Ocotillo for some desert wheeling. It was a good time. We also pulled some LCA, UCA cores off some of the junkers in the yota graveyard. There is a sweet 1985 P/U extra cab awaiting an IFS swap. Gonna put a Blazeland LT on this rig soon so it can keep up with us.

Yeah right.... I got dibs on the 85 extra cab if the owner decides to sell. Unfortunatly it was involved in an accident and has some legal complications to be resolved. Right now its registered as non-operable! It can't even be registered with a "green sticker" without some major hassle. Someday it may be streetable, but it will have a salvage title.

Blazeland Shock hoop conversion
well as blazeland n8 mentioned earlier, he and I met up at ocotillo wells ca. The Mantruck blasted through the washes and soaked up the whoops very well. However after hitting some of the bigger whoops I decided that I needed some more dampening in the front. Nate and I talked and decided that the Blazeland shock hoops should be the next upgrade. The thing I liked about the hoops was that I could go with a double bilstein shock or go with a coilover if I decided to later on down the road. for now i'm going to go with the double bilstein.. I will post before and after pics as well as a report on how the new addition works.....

This is the Blazeland shock hoop setup. Take note that this is not a production kit. It is only a prototype, and if Nate from Blazeland finds that their is enough interest in the kit.. he will go from there. He and I just used my rig to experiment with... This kit is totally bolt on which is really cool.. only some minor welding was needed to attach the shock tabs on the LCA's and rear hoop mounts to the frame..
