Thanks! And that yellow hose is actually a diff breather extension. Apparently the PO put that on there. I also thought it was an air locker at first

They have super fast shipping and great customer service. Use the "make offer" thing and you may get a better price.

This is what I mean about having a fuse for the switch and each light. Just something I made in my free time.

Not to scale, of course

It's definitely the exact one. Try searching the part # on google and look at other sites that carry it. It's usually marketed as a "universal mid/mini truck light bar". I wrote a review for it a couple days ago and contacted them saying that they should include 1989-1995 Toyota pickups, but it hasn't appeared on the site yet.

Wow. Just look into the hella lights. Much better on the wallet compare to light force and LEDS.

I'm copying you !!

Got my fuse box today.

I don't see "Hella" stamped on it anywhere. Even if it's not a Hella, it's still pretty solid and it has a nice cover. I'll probably get to the wiring tonight or tomorrow.

What size fuses should I use for the switch and the lights? I'm assuming no more than 15A for the lights.

P=VI
55w=12v(I)
I=4.5833A per light

So 5A fuses?

I'm not too sure about what fuse for the switch, though.

Little info that might be of some use... You just have to remember that when you heat shrink and insulate wiring and more kama it creates a lot of resistance...

5-amp fuse per light, min. i would use 10a per light to reduce the risk of this happening:

(that used to be a 40 amp fuse)

no, that's what happens if you use 38 amps of current through a cheap 40 amp fuse for an hour

So I was looking under the hood thinking of places to mount the fuse box and I saw these two threaded holes in front of the master cylinder. I'm pretty sure they were for mounting the airbox and/or silencers. I figured that would be a great place to mount it. The threads inside were all rusted out so I ran a 1/4-20 tap through them.

The bottom of the fuse box is flat, while the fender is rounded, so I made this bracket to keep the fuse box somewhat level. I cut it out of some random sheet of metal I found behind my dads work bench. I haven't worked with sheet-metal since junior year in high school so it didn't turn out as good as I hoped for, but it will serve the purpose

Mounted

I got these two cans of paint from work for free. Some oxygen thief took it upon himself to take a can of paint off the shelf and test it out on these cans and part of the shelf So I got to take them home with me since they were marked defective. They're the new paint and primer in one by Rust-Oleum. So I sprayed a coat on the bracket. We'll see how it holds up.

Sorry for the poor photos. I have to use my cell phone camera since my parents are on vacation and they took the good camera.

It really isn't but it was only $13 and I won't have a bunch of inline fuses laying around everywhere. They'll all be in one spot

EDIT: Plus it gave me an excuse to finally fab something, even if it was something as simple as that bracket

3 of the slots should be for the lights and I'll have 5 left over for others. One is already being held for a CB. As for the other 4...I'll think of something

So I did the wiring today. It took about 5 hours (I know...) to finish, but that also included a 1 hour trip to work to pick up more connectors and Napa to get 10A ATC fuses because I forgot to pick them up from work

The wiring didn't turn out as clean looking as I was hoping for. I ran 10 gauge and 14 gauge from the battery (they're in the think black wire loom). I have 14 gauge wire going to each light, so it should be plenty if I ever want to go up to a 100w bulb, according to my calculations.

I re-did the relay wiring

Fuse box

Holy cow, these things are bright!!

I'm glad I tore all the old driving light wiring and put in all new. If I had retro-fitted the Hellas onto the old wiring, I probably would have had issues. The largest size wire in the old harness was 16 gauge And to think I had 100w bulbs in those old lights...oh silly younger Shawn...
