Yesterday was the two year anniversary of when I purchased my truck.
So I decided to change the oil and put on a new filter. Valvoline MaxLife 10w-30. Don't know why the image is so small. Stupid phone...
Napa Gold filter
And just because it was on sale...Lucas fuel treatment.
The new ball joints would have been nice, but they haven't come yet.

light bar pro's:
-looks cool
-room for lights
cons:
-can't add a toolbox
-rust
toolbox pros:
-lots of extra storage
-lockable
-most are aluminum (no rust)
cons:
-hard to find deep ones for our trucks
-limit some bed space
i'd say go for a toolbox and add a cab-over light bar (that's what i'd like to do). the extra space in the toolbox is great for putting a gas can, hi-lift, rope/chains, bottle jack, oil, folding chair, spare cooling fan, and mudflaps, among other things
(yeah, i just listed the contents of my toolbox)

Pro for toolbox: Store all of my school crap and tools in the box, not in my front and rear seats. More room for friends or the lady folk
There are a lot of them floating around on Craigslist, but none are really what I'm looking for. I'm looking for a low-profile toolbox.
I was thinking about a cab over light bar at one point. I was thinking about getting the Carr M-profile with 2 Hella 500ffs. See posts 1 and 9 of this thread for a general idea https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f131...nstall-222180/ . I'd like to find an ever lower profile light bar, but no one makes them. Carr has a lower profile bar, but not for 3rd gen pickups. Recently I've been thinking about a ORI Baja Challenger light bar for the front bumper with two Hella 500ffs. See post 33 of this thread for a pic of a 3rd gen with this light bar: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f199...24/index2.html . For the roof mounted bar, I'd be nervous drilling into the roof to mount it and run wires, since 3rd gens don't have gutters

I'd like to thank Fed-Ex for being completely stupid and shipping my parts to one of my neighbors houses. The addresses are on the front of all the houses in my neighborhood. Is it that difficult to find the right house? I could have been working on my truck all day today since this is the only day I get off early from school during the week.

I know it was probably a dumb thing to rant about, but c'mon
The parts I was talking about are the new Moog ball joints. I haven't put them on yet, but I did put the grease fittings on and press the boots on. The boots for the lower ball joints fit great, but the uppers were a pain in the anus to get on. After wrestling with them for a while trying to push them on by hand, I finally wised up and got a piece of large piece of pipe, the diameter of the boot ring and a BFH and tapped them on. The least I could do is get them ready to put on. Hopefully I can get them on tomorrow evening. The screeching produced by the ones I have now is unbearable and embarrassing.

Thanks! It took me about 4 hours after school, about 30 minutes of that was running around the garage looking for the pickle fork to separate the ball joints from the knuckle I'd say about 2.5 hours was on the right side, and then on the left side I remembered the trick I learned on here where you put a piece of metal between the upper control arm and the bump stop to keep the suspension a bit compressed. I had the old upper off and the new upper on on the left side in about 10 minutes.

Thanks Chef!
I have a $100 Visa gift card from my birthday back in September and coupon for 15% off and free shipping for JC Whitney that expires at midnight tonight. What should I get?
I was thinking about getting a new front steering stabilizer and a set of window visor thingys.
Looking at their website, I see no difference between this http://www.jcwhitney.com/skyjacker-h...2183y1993g12j1 and this http://www.jcwhitney.com/skyjacker-h...2183y1993g12j1. Why is one about $15 more than the other? If it's something obvious, feel free to call me an idiot Was going to do a dual stabilizer, but I don't have 35" or larger tires.
EDIT: Was also thinking about getting a set of Hella 500ffs, even though I don't have anywhere to mount them yet, just since it's a good deal. http://www.jcwhitney.com/model-500-f...83y1993g12u0j2 If you look at page, it says that it doesn't come with a wiring harness, but under product info, it says it does come with a harness. It also shows both 500ff and the regular 500 and only 1 part number. That's a quality website

EDIT: JC Whitney has a live chat with a customer service rep and he said that the stud-stud mounted one does not fit the SR5 model...Don't the 4x4 SR5, DLX, and base models all have the same steering components?
It would squeak going over every little bump and when I turned the wheel. Lock to lock, just an annoyingly loud squeal. Sorry I can't be any more descriptive than that. Squeaks are hard to describe

Hey bud, I would put that money toward a locker, if you could get 1 through them... I just can't say, and I'm too late anyway from what you said, hehe. Anyway, kinda cool to find that stuff, it should help your steering quite a bit, especially with all the new goodies. I'm still dealing with my vibrating drive shaft syndrome, or bad u joints, or badly stretched out transfer case output shaft, or whatever the heck is! Hahahaha... But I'll get it, because like you, this stuff, the unusual vibrations and squeaks, et cetera, make me want to stab myself in the face with an ice pick! Lol okay that's a little extreme, just kidding, but you get the point.
