Hello 92.. I see you re talking about air tanks, but kind of wanted to let you know what my wife truck does even though it is a different set up.

Hers is the 22re 5 speed and at 60mph it was running around 2500 rpm, if the tach is right as I did the SR5 guage swap. I would like another gear in it myself, my guess is just the way Toyota set these up.

Earlier I called the Steering Relay Rod a Drag Link, may just be a southern term we use around here, but refers the same thing.

As far as air tanks, generally the larger the better, but the cost can go up quite a bit with each size. As much as I disagree with pawn shops, sometimes you can get a nice one there. Also sometimes you can find a body shop or tire shop that has a tank they no longer use.

as i was wrenching on my intake today, i got stumped. thought i had it all apart but noooooo. below are 2 of your pics. i have cropped and drawn on them to illustrate my problem area. the pics maybe reversed.

in the first pic, the hose on the back of the intake on the pass. side seems to go under the plenum and attach to the circled area of the 2nd pic. howd you get that off? it appears to be a rubber hose but isn't.

those are rubber hoses. that one on the top pic circled goes to the big air box at the front of the engine bay.

there are many hidden and "why the hell would they put that there?" kinda hoses on this thing. I do know that just when i thought we had it all un-done, you would find more and think that you never remember "that" one.

Just wanted to clarify something....

Drove down to the Freeway today, thought I'd test out the "55MPH in 5th Gear RPM" stats....

55MPH in 5th, holding steady, straight away, 4.30 Gear Ratio, 2300 RPM
65MPH in 5th,.............................................. ................,..2800 RPM
75MPH in 5th,.............................................. ................,..3300 RPM

Pretty much a 500 RPM jump between each gear. The latter 3, at least. Didn't check any others.

I might have misremembered, so I'll try it again....but pretty sure.

probably put about 700 miles on it by now. no issues. how cool is that?

nothing to report. not going to fool around with anything on it until I have my truck back on the road.

short list is:
stereo and fiddle around with the cables for the climate control.

Hello Jerry.. Doing the heater control was a pain for me. If you need to remove the whole assembly, I tried to put some info on my thread under Dash pad removal. I didnt go to indepth on it, but might still help some.

we are high and dry where we are. Brandon (XXXTREME) started a thread about the flooding. we are definitely smack-dab in the middle of the trouble, but we are safe. stranded, but safe.

Ooooh, hunting for a deck, eh? Me 2, ....and I don't want something I wont wanna keep for 10 years, ya know? lol. Any ideas on that, yet, Jerry/Joe?

I like the new Bluetooth Pioneer....think it's 7800BTU or something like that. I saw them pretty much 25% less at Walmart, lol. Surprised how many decks they have. Target too, lol. Best Buy is ok, but not the best deals... my alarm guy will beat any of their prices. But he's limited in brands.

Sweet project! i got my first yota at 13 and had to rebuild it from a wreck. Sweet project that taught me a ton. Good to hear you guys are safe.
