UPDATE:

massive setback, but all is well now.

turns out I did NOT have the timing belt right......about a 2hr delay now, but we are back on the move.

exhaust is tight, truck is on the ground

chicken on the bar-b-q..break time soon

then the exhaust was done





currently just ate and back in action.....going to work on the fuel stuff now

alright, with the engine running, i would like to thank EVERYONE who has helped us along the way. this is the first step on a long road, and we really could NOT have done this without you guys.

just a brief run-down of the 14 or so hours we spent on this today:


exhaust....could have gone better. exhaust cutting tool....not as simple as I expected and left a flange when it was done...had to be filed down.

assembly.....had Brandon not spotted the timing foul-up this would have been extra bad. had missed by 2 teeth.....my fault...totally had messed it up on the crankshaft thing. not sure how Brandon came up wit the solution he did, not sure it could be repeated or explained, but it worked and that's ll that mattered.

between the exhaust and the timing belt, that was probably a good 5 hours. the rest was spent doing this and that and boy the time flew.

all I can say, is I'm glad this part is over.

no check engine light.

no leaks.

alternator may be dead though.

ran out of gas too....that was a funny extra. threw about another 1/3rd of a gallon from the lawnmower can in.....have to get more tomorrow.

truly did not expect this to be running today.

actually was quite ready for a disappointment.

but in true Brandon fashion, he did not give up.
