Was hoping to be online when it happens, but I will have to be gone.

don't worry man....pretty sure it's not going to happen this weekend. even if I get the motor all buttoned up, there is still exhaust work that has to be done. i don't want to start it with open headers. ok...yes i do...but that would probably mess something up not having the O2 sensor in place

had a question about the middle bracket in the pic below. I knew the top one went to the pwer steering and the bottom one for the alternator but i had no clue about the middle one. scoured my pics and joes thread but no clue.
but nothing beats actually going out and trying to make sense of stuff. and I did.
it is the upper bracket for the power steering....hooks to the head and sandwiches the front engine hook

I'm pretty sure the curved part bolts below and curves upward around the AC compressor. The other end bolts to the lower PS bracket.

once again, you are dead-on.
page 130, Hayne's manual, called the "compressor stay"....I was wondering why I had 1 compressor bolt bagged separately and labeled as a "power steering bracket bolt" and that the front lower bolt would not thread in enough.
so, i'm gonna assume the bottom hole goes to the bottom front bolt of the a/c and the top hole to the "adjusting" bolt for the power steering. it makes sense now.
spent a few hours out in the garage doing that stuff.
did not take the belt cover off , instead put the alternator and a/c and power steering pump on and the organized and subsequently cleaned the garage (me and the boys....wife is working)
i'ts getting pretty warm already, good pool day.
thanks Joe for keeping an eye out for us.

thanks....it's amazing how little i can accomplish in 3 1/2hrs....booooo
but when you find yourself looking at your own pics, reading your own thread and finally giving up and asking questions, it chews up alot of time.
but, likewise, we cleaned the garage up.
this wrenching episode is done, hopefully a more focused effort later. didn't think i'd be looking to put the belts on by now, but i am. and guess what i didn't buy yet?
anyway.....house is cleaned, washer is fixed and back in action, steaks are cut up and marinating for dinner.
but, of course, some tasty pics
