no prob....just got off the phone w/ NAPA in berwick, should have the starter and slave cylinder there by 230....$96...not bad I don't think.

hoping to not have to replace any lines as they were well "preserved" with all the OIL....grrrrr.

will check, i'm betting it's the 10mm size.....BUT....I'm going down thattaway, you live the other way. no biggie. I'll see what I can find, if not at NAPA then at Auto-zone.

have fun with the U-Haul......don't miss doing that stuff when we moved....said I would rather burn the place down, than move again.

hello header

driver's side header off and then back on using copper RTV as directed....meh on the fitment....kinda sloppy but i guess the welds hold everything in.

time to disassemble the everything before the catalytic converter.....boooooooo

O2 sensor.....thought this was going to be impossible, but nope...got it off (PS...wear eye protection...that is all)

this, however, is gonna meet it's maker. can't get this off. sawzall will be employed soon.

NAPA....got starter and slave cylinder. Auto-Zone for flare wrenches.

slave cylinder 1st, PITA, then held it in place with 1 bolt because I had a feeling it was going to be in the way for doing the starter. it was.

anyway....truck as it sits now.....on jack stands. towel to save my arms from getting shredded by everything....meh

and the new starter installed....

going to eat then go back out and mount the slave cylinder. I don't have a hose to bleed it, will have to "borrow" some from work tomorrow.

if my arms weren't so dead I would have thrown wrenches.

can't get the GD slave cylinder in place......can't get the plunger to stay in while getting the holes lined up. i'm thinking of taking a screwdriver and sticking it in one of the holes and levering it over.

this is definitely my 1st time messing with this kind of stuff....so i'm super frustrated and disgusted right now.

ahahahaha.....sounds like a plan.

i loosened the bleeder a bit, that seemed to help alot but between contorting my arms, having joe directly behind my head with the light, the pushrod pushing back out at me, the line getting caught on everything under the sun......grrrrrrrrrr

Wow, that 3.0 just is NOT installation friendly when it comes to certain things(spark plugs, headers, knock sensor/OMGOSH, and a few other nasty tight squeezes) eh?

I'm sure you've read the instructions in the FSM, which tell you to "Intall/bolt the two bolts to the bell housing, THEN CONNECT the brake line to the slave, then bleed."...... right? Sorry, not being smarty about it, ..... I'm sure, as I said, you read up well on it. Rather, you're probably having a problem just getting the piston to go in enough against the fork tongue and then get the bolts in...... But in case, I thought I would mention the "BOLT IT UP FIRST< THEN CONNECT LINE" part.
