Gotcha Jerry, thanks. Well, any chance of some new pics of them? My friend built a lil box into the triangle section of the roll bar(in between the two mounting flanges and up to the joint)....it was sweet! He put inset tweets and 8" subs in there.

even though its a pic from last summer....it looks the same
had a bunch of the obligatory Pennsylvania rust
and the inside looked like ell but we gutted it, painted the plastic , undercoated the bed and the walls and the rollbar....
bringing it home April 10, 2009 on the pennsylvania turnpike....towing it with my cousin's diesel dodge (awesome, by the way)

chrome flaming skulls.
we lost some horsepower pulling those off, but the loss was worth it.
black is a beyotch to do bodywork on.....got the paint smooth as silk but when i painted it still could see imperfections......thats why the areas are painted with undercoating, then painted.

OK....so back to the current electrical issue.
when i saw that pulled-apart wire, i thought "ahah, i found the problem"....but was not the case.
that ground wire looks like hell, but even so, i'm wondering what that could have to do with anything, since, in my opinion,at worst it's leaking and grounding out elsewhere. i will wrap it well and maybe shorten it or at least secure it to keep it from rubbing.
what else should i be looking for?
when i pulled the top off of the fuse box, i wasn't sure what i would be looking for........i'm thinking i should be looking in the other fuse box perhaps.
again...the truck is not getting electricity, no horn, no dome light, nothing.
i want to trouble shoot this 1st before i go any further on anything else....basically want to narrow down my repairs to "it ran before i pulled the engine and it should run when i rebuild it too".

Trace the main power wire to the starter and make sure it's where it's suppose to be. I'll check around on mine here in a bit but you should have some power somewhere. I drove it to work today and have to head out to mess with it a bit.

Doesn't the power to most EVERYTHING come right from that fuse box, through that line that was broken? Does it have a fusible link in that line that might have broken?
Sorry, I'm really just learning on the routing of these, ...and that's a 6, so I'm not sure what else it has that I do not. The only problem I had that was similar with my 90 4x4 Toy was a fusible link had blown to my main fuse box.

so......on this morning's episode, i decided to try and reach where the big ground wire from the battery attaches just behind the a/c. of course couldn't make myself small enough to reach it, so i had to take a tire off.
for those of you that don't know, i tried to remove a front wheel last year and had a helluva time doing it due to road crud between the wheel and the hub...eventually had to loosen the lug nuts and turn the wheel while popping the clutch... this time though, that was not going to be possible because i can't get it started.
so, yep, the wheel was stuck on there (different wheel, same problem), i soaked it with PB BLaster and commenced hitting the tire from the inside about a thousand times until, when turning the wheel, i could see it was slightly askew......so anyway, i got it off.
took off a rubbery guard and then the passenger's side inspection plate and with several extensions, was able to access the 14mm head bolt that held on the ground.
ground removed and now is in my toolbox in my truck and on the next trip 'into town" (because we live far, far away....like 20 miles) to the auto-parts store, will look to buy a new one.
did alot of looking around underneath...what a wet mess.....mostly looking only from the passenger's side, but i question whether there are ANY valve cover gaskets judging by the amount of oil i see on the engine.
OK...a few pics....don't get excited.....my plan is to get this thing to start up before ripping into it. i think i posted this before, but i want to eliminate alot of variables......so, what i want is to be able to say, it ran when i took it out, it will run when i get it back in.....but if i don't find the electrical problem now, i may be chasing my tail later.

i checked the fuses at the driver's side panel.....all were good.....have to break out the manuals and see that each fuse is the right size etc.....but none were blown.
checked the fuses at the passenger's side in the engine compartment....all look good too.....here is a pic of these 3 fuses, i assume they are good, but i never saw ones like this before, so here's a pic.
so, that may be it for today, or at least until i get a new ground wire and eliminate that possibility

You'll get it, Jerry. You've checked the C.O.R., right? Kinda popping in, so I didn't have time to read back. The 80Amp is the Alternator, right? This is a V6, but it looks similar to my 87. I had a problem with my rig, years ago, due to that fuse losing contact on the screws that hold it in, underneath.
Good luck, ....me not likey electrical stuff! lol. Heck, you got a great Co-mechanic, ...you'll get it, surely.
