hi..

making progress bright and early this fine day.

valves are out / all parts bagged. decided to brutally wash the head with the pressure washer and scrub-brush rather than meticulously with the steamer. results were better and faster. that's for sure.

head is now drying.

I'm sure this wasn't good.....a build-up of calcium or lime in one of the ports (rear-most of the head)

Joe wanted a pic of the oily sheen....

and a very clean head.

need to service the valves now, change oil seals and lap the valves and reassemble the head and the prep the block on the passenger's side so maybe we could install this head today.

yep...wide open Mark.

head is done and sealed up until the black is ready on that side. I will be happy to never have to do valves again...EVER.

pics are coming. taking a break now....wife is off too, so before I had a chance to go back out to do the head, I had to clean the ceiling fans?!?!

way to go y'all
slow and steady dose win the race i have seen guys rush something and end up doing it twice because the rushed through it and didn't get it right or rushed passed that small thing that came back to haunt them good job
that's the way to do it Jerry stand there and watch as he gets it done

Thanks....I do alot of the work but so does Joe.....so it's a pretty good split.

Passenger's side head is on, new freeze plugs in too. Pics will be posted after dinner (kinda late). so much prep work goes into doing each head.....probably close to 3 or 4 hrs of good attention-to-detail prep work. hope to NEVER do it again.
