Haha... Yeah, I don't get yelled at, ...but, GEEESH, ....as clean as I had that thing, remember? SO MUCH CRAP leaking for 4500 miles, ....QUICKLY created a whole new realm of grease! lol. Ehhhhh, I actually also did the diff stuff, so that stuff hadn't been touched in a 1/4 million miles...but DANG, .....I can't wait till it's over! hahahaha.

Can't wait for more, Jerry, Joe! Bring it!!!! lol.

I'm sorry I really don't have anything to add...You two/three are doing just fine. So I guess that's a good thing.

Haven't been on in awhile and I just got all caught up again. It's looking awfully nice. I thought my heads were dirty, but they were nothing like yours! Those were a mess, nice cleaning job though.

So you gonna paint the oil filter too? That blue just doesn't work with everything else... j/k

Keep up the good work, I'm enjoying your build.

hey guys.....ummm, no , on the oil filter.....actually that one is a dud anyway......had taken off the fram with a stabbed screwdriver and threw that one on there to keep crud out of the area, so that one was never actually used.

"supposedly" off until tuesday....unless work calls (crosses fingers).....as 2nd in command, I am required to cover if nobody else can....but, for my sake, I already covered 16 extra hours this week....so hopefully it keeps anyone from looking cross-eyed at me because I already did my part.

anyway.

definitely going to make some progress....need to finish the valves o the passenger's side head....install it and start on the driver's side head.

Doing my part to keep you from working this weekend. Hope you have some great family time and if your plans or for the 8T8 all goes well.

I must have missed something on the 92, guessing it is the oil filter. Hope all is well.

did NOT have to work last night....they tried.....Lord knows, they tried. Wife all p-o'd because they called 3 times in an hour last night to have me figure crap out. Hopefully they leave me alone today....have a cookout to go to this afternoon. wife is working sat-sun-mon and I am off the same days....kinda much better for many reasons when that happens (married guys will understand that...and unmarried too)

my truck is fine and back on the road after getting towed home (see my thread...the "original" one) after breaking a coolant hose near the thermostat....temp fix done and will have to order that hose for $32...ouch.

garage cleaned this morning ...amazing how it gets so screwed up so fast.

did some detail stuff to Joe's motor...namely, chased the head bolt holes with an oiled bolt by hand twice each and the cleaned the block again and again until I was satisfied. new knock sensor wire installed as well.

waiting for Joe to get his butt in motion so we can finish the valves on the head and get that head on.

pics....of course.

new wire

driver's side of the block cleaned up

this says it all

haha BOSS FTW.....

Not sure if it's just the photo or just me, but I am not quite sure I like that block surface for the head.

Ok....driver's side head is on and tightened down.

and blah-blah-blah.....on to the pics

all valves in

gasket on

after torquing to 33 ft/lbs after several passes to get to that, painted lines to point to 12 o'clock on the head bolts (by the way the ones from LCE are 12mm heads rather than 14mm heads)

then, in sequence, turned each enough to point to the 3 o'clock position

then, one more pass, to make them point to 6 o'clock

and here we area....cam is still out.....want to get the other head on before messing with FIPG and all that

after this, I cut grass for a few hours.....sitting now, waiting to go to a cookout
