Woooo, you guy's is chattin it up, eh? Hope you find all them goodies you need, Jerry!

Couldn't find that stuff within the 'TradeMotion' sites, eh? I thought trademotion was just Carson Toyota of CA, .....derrrrrrr, lol. hahaha. I guess that's who Toyota used to make their authorized OEM parts online thingy get a move on without them having to do it all themselves... Plus, I think they make their piece, either way, eh? lol.

Just a thought, sorry if I missed it, but have you tried this one??......>>>>

OH MY!!! Chef.....I wish that site would have come up when I did a search. That's the most 3vze things I've seen together yet.

I'm gonna have to compare apples to apples......AISIN Oil and Water pumps versus his stuff as far as prices go...ROCK water and oil pumps are what I have on mine.....I was gonna go AISIN, so I will compare....if it's not that much more, I will just go AISIN.

But freeze plugs are nice.....spark plugs right there are nice. the timing set does not have, nor does the site mention, the tensioner spring......Joe's has the spring versus hydraulic that later years have.

BLESS YOU Chef!!! I love that site.

not really...yet.

ya know how a cat kinda plays with the mouse before it eats it???.....I'm the cat, the parts are the mouse......My OCD dictates that I do side-by-side comparisons.

I'm not gonna knock ROCK products, since I am wearing them myself, but I kinda like the idea of keeping AISIN stuff on his truck.

so............., after I am done organizing 2 closets and the rest of the house, hanging the rest of the Christmas decorations and whatever else I can think of to keep from getting yelled at when the wife gets home......I will lay it all out and see who I am going with......probably NOT the dealership for alot of this stuff since it's quite prohibitive to order from them.

I think you'll be better off with the AISIN, I don't mind Rock but if you can get them at the same price or close go with the better.

OK...

pulled the trigger and ordered the DAYCO #84040 TIMING COMPONENT SET (without BELT) from Advance Auto courtesy of 2 discounts.....code "DEC 1" for free shipping I think and code "BIG 40" for 40% off anything over $100.....so my order with discounts and TAX came to $84.79.....a whopping $5.38 less than the cheapest I could find anywhere else (ROCKAUTO.com w/shipping was $90.17......at AUTOPARTSWAREHOUSE.com was $90.63 w/ free shipping)

so big deal, but progress nonetheless.

so.....last week I / we had a run of good luck with Craigslist. In one day I was able to get a like-new set of m/t tires size 31-10.5-15's for $300 from a guy about 18 miles away, and on the same day, drove a little over 1 1/2hrs to buy a set(5) of steel wheels from a fellow YOTATECH member (drpdmazda) and he even threw in a Smittybilt rear bumper for Joe's 4runner.

was good day indeed.

have been discussing with Joe, what we were going to do with the wheels and tires etc.
tires will get mounted on my black steel wheels I already have....to replace the crappy tires I have on there, and get mounted on my truck for winter and 4wheeling. the steel wheels we got last week are getting painted up and decided we will un-mount his REVOs from his SR5 rims and mount them on these "new" rims. we agree that the essential "blackout" of his 4runner is gonna look mighty fine.

still circling my prey as far as ordering parts for his motor....I'm kinda OCD like that.
but the list goes as follows (some obvious stuff may be not listed)

TOYOTA "engine overhaul gasket" set from the dealer......what dealer, not sure of yet.

HEAD BOLTS probably from PARTS DINOSAUR

OIL PUMP / WATER PUMP / GOODYEAR TIMING BELT....from Auto Parts Warehouse......best price I've found for AISIN stuff and has FREE SHIPPING.

have to send out the injectors and cold start injector to WITCH HUNTER

Already have the DAYCO TIMING COMPONENT SET that I saved a whopping 5 or 6 dollars from Advance Auto.

That is all....for now.

here's a pic of the grab from last week

and the tires for ME

and what the wheels look like this morning after we took the valve stems out and gave the wheels a second coat of gloss black on top of the primer and 1st coat of gloss black.

gonna hit those wheels with a couple more coats of gloss black and a couple coats of clear.
get some new chrome lugs and should look awesome.
had some chrome centers that i thought might fit......but they don't...so oh well.

that bumper has surface stuff only....is intact otherwise and undamaged....so should clean up nicely.

heres a thought, since you cant run the center caps with the AISIN mabual hubs, and since your gonna have the wheels off anyways, take a wire wheel to the drums and paint them a high heat black... or a POR15 so they wont rust again... but itll give you a nice black look without having chrome center caps...

also can take the front rotors off, tape em off and paint them too... im going to do that when i rebuild the front end on the taco... but of course, mine will be purple and black...
