Ok, guys. I have had an unmeasurable amount of changes in th last few months. Sorry for my absense. I still have a ton of family stuff to deal with. I have not even touched a wrench on the 4runner. I actually moved it to a friends shop and he is supposed to finish it for me. I have given him directions and showed him what it still needs. I know he is busy as well. I am half tempted to sell the rig with all the parts I have collected. The only thing left to really do is wire the rig up and such.
Any input would be appriciated. Should I just let it go and maybe again in the future start another one when I have time or should I just sit on this one and when he gets to it, let him?
This 4runner is in very nice shape and I was going to make it my daily driver. However I have bought a new truck thanks to my parents so this 4runner would be my trail toy only.

Hey guys,
Well, its been a very long road. One that I thankfully won't ever have to travel again. I am still dealing with alot of my parents stuff, but I am making progress. I have a few things to share with you all.
1. The 4runner is sitting a buddies of mines house in his shop. I trailered it out to him, as he offered to finish it up for me or at least keep working on it with the directions I give him.
2. I have decided to leave my current place of employment and house. We decided to start over fresh and move. I am in the process of moving to a new home that has a 36x60 shop building. This is the Yota Garage. I have bought and sold toyota's and yota parts in the past and been very successfull with it. I will be starting up my Toyota Parts business full time. While between Toyota part outs I will build my Toyota's. So this 4runner is going to be a trail toy for me and the family.
I will post some pics of the 4runner and where I am at with it shortly. While not related to the 4runner, I will post some pictures of the new truck I was so graciouly provided.
I can't believe how much one depends on their parents even at my ripe young age. I usually stopped by my parents business or called them every day.
I miss them very much. I encourage anybody reading this to take the effort to call your parents and at least let them know how much they mean to you and the best gift you could ever leave anybody that cares about you is instructions as to your last wishes.
Sorry to be mushy and such, but some times those things just need to be said.
Talk with you guys soon.
Don

How is your runner doing? I have been looking at a SAS for mine now.
I got the emblem off of eBay. I paid 9.00 for it, came from hongkong and took about 1 week to get it.

We pulled all the parts I stuck in the back of it for the move back out and layed out on the bench.
I need to finish the cooling system and the motor mounts. The drivetrain is complete, but I am second guessing.the 3.0 throw out bearing. I might pull the set up and put the 3.4 bearing in there. I just don't want any problems from the get go.
I think I might have to put a 1" body lift on. I was trying to do no body lift, but I don't think its gonna happen.
I am also thinking about a solid axle swap too. I have been pricing it out.
I am moving in the next 2 weeks so I haven't gotten to wound up as I will have a lot to do again here shortly. I am exciteed to get my new toy business started.

Hey guys,
I have got the engine mounts all finished up and looking pretty. I ended up installing a body lift, everything fits much better now. After trying this install without a body lift it is not possible unless your willing to tub the tranny tunnel and hack the heck out of the fire wall. I want this to look as clean as possible, factory looking. I will post some pics as soon as I get a chance.
I plan on selling engine mounts in the near future. These bolted up to the factory 3.0 engine dampeners. You must run a 1" body lift to get these to fit. I am having a wiring harness built as well. I am thinking about selling prebuilt wiring harness to fit those with the 3.0 and 5 speed as originals.
Little things but making great progress!

She is back at home in my shop once again. I left the 3.0 throw out bearing in and have to swap it out to the 3.4 bearing as the clutch slave won't release the clutch.
So the tranny is needing to be pulled out again.
I ended up using Tundra exhaust manifolds, cut and welded then put on different 2 bolt flanges.
I also built a custom adaptor to relocate the mounting for the tranny/transfercase but leaving the oe crossmember in the stock location.
I just added oil, ps fluid and coolant. I need to finish the exhaust and get it down for wiring. It should be running pretty soon.

Exhaust is done. It is getting dropped of on Monday for the wiring to be completed. Then it should be ready to run down the road. I am so looking forward to driving this thing again. I currently have 4:88 gears in it but am thinking that i should move to either 4:30 or 4:56 gears. I have 305x70x16's on it now but will move up to 35's once the solid axle swap is done. That will most likely be next winter before that swap starts. I want to get some hours and miles on this thing to make sure every thing is running well.
The 3.4 throw out bearing has been replaced. Anybody who uses the bellhousing with the r150 tranny and the stock 3.0 flywheel. You will need to use the 3.4 throw out bearing. There is just too much space between the end of the throw out of the 3.0 and clutch that the pedal will go to the floor before the clutch is engaged. The 3.4 throw out is the same other then its lengh. It is so smooth now.
Anybody have any suggestions on gears? RMA, birdduck, shaggy, dunkin21.

Mine has 4:56 gears with 295's on it almost 35's or just over I'm not sure. But on the highway doing 70 I'm right at 3000rpm. And still plenty of power to accelerate without downshifting and I'm a mile high so at it altitude u should be pretty good. When I do the auto swap I'm not sure if ill change my gearing. I have to see what the auto dose to her.

Let me figure out what I am need and I will pm you.
I didn't get to drop the truck off for wiring today as planned. I talked with the shop and found that I need both sides of the pig tales that connect the 4 engine harness to body harness wires together. Once get those 4 doner car sides of the harness then she will be off to the shop. If anybody has those please let me know.
Here are some pictures.
Oil pan to relay rod
Cross under Y pipe.
Duel exhaust out the back at stock locations.
Bell housing
This is in Front of my shop building and Home of North West Toy's. My Toyota Fabrication shop. This is where I will offer motor mounts, the cross over for the exhaust and other toyota fabbed parts.
