no. no locker in her yet. i have one i just need the money to rebuild that too. im not making $h!t for hours at work. only made 51 hours on the last check. i finally scrounged up the money to get my water pump and oil pressure bypass valve. she is leaking coolant and the oil pressure drops off when at idle at operating temperature. with im sure is a pre-existing problem from looking at the original head that i pulled off of it that had the cam journal. cams are the end of the line on oil pressure. i just really dont want to pull the pan off.

The saggy rear probably isn't helping either. The meats look good.

well i did my water pump the other week. was leaking from the weap hole. i used a a tundra pump so i didnt have to glue the pump on. the tundra pump comes with a metal gasket with an oring in it. got it from workl pac. and here is the number for it. also glued the heater pipe in with the o-ring just dont trust o-rings all the time.

also put the oil pump bypass valve in on friday as with the snow there was no work what so ever. pulled the pan and found this. im gonna have to find another engine. also pulled a rod cap to check the bearings. not so bad but not the best. so when i put oil back in it i used 20w50 and when the engine is hot at idle it only has 14.5psi for oil pressure and spec is 47psi

also ordered the parts for my locker will be here on tuesday. yes i cant wait. as i got stuck in my alley trying to pull my subaru out by my self. we got like foot and a half of hevy wet snow. and i am gonna build a new rear bumper with a tire hanger. or i may try and put a 90 stock rear hanger on it. will see when the time comes.

That stinks about the engine, and getting stuck. Heard you all got a good dumping of the white stuff.

ok so i got a little bit done today. put a set of manual locking hubs on. and the good news is they fit behind the center caps.

also got a new tailgate with a tire rack. will put this in next week.

also got a chunk of frame to fix my rear bump stop.

i also now have all my locker parts. just need to build the harness. then i can throw it in.

retaining my automatic pistol grip shifters

Hey everyone,

Sorry in advance for stepping on any toes here, first time post, so yea I'm a newbie but I have been lurking doing research for some time now.

Anyway awesome forum and I have been able to answer most of my questions by looking around, but does anyone know if I use a older (91') transfer case (not hydraulic) passenger drop with the 1995 lexus SC400 auto will I be able to keep both of my pistol grip shifters with out modifing my center console?

I currently have a 1uz ready to swap but just trying to keep my interior stock as possible. Thanks

Thanks man.

As for your question as I didn't do the auto in mine I may not be the beat to answer this. I know RMA would most likely know it. But from what I know I am pretty sure that almost all the A340 transmission cases are somewhat the same. Such as A340f A340H and so on. Like when you see a 96 and up taco or runner with sas there is a adapter to but a pre 90's passengers drop gear case in. But like I said I may not be the one to answer this question.
Good luck on the swap man its so much fun to drive.

Thanks shaggy, I am super stoked for you, great build too.

Don't know If RMA is still dropping by but..........

I have 1995 passenger drop hydraulic t-case, with a (automatic looking) pistol grip lever in the cab to operate the t-case. I like shifting on the fly (ADD) does this mean I have to keep the hydraulic or can I use a manual shifting type of T-case (93-94 t-100 t-case) and still have ADD? And if I go with this
T-case can I still use my pistol grip type of shifter?

thanks

As far as the automatic goes I'm not sure if you can put the hydro case on a tranny that dose not have the ports to feed the t-case. But as for the ADD as long as you wire up the switches to turn the vsv's off an on when you put in 4wd. As it base no part of the t-case other then a signal telling the 4wd vsv to switch.

got some more done today. i put my new tailgate with tire carrier on. i also found some big rust holes in the rear quarters. not to suprising but still. i only have a picture on the hole and not the repaif i did as im somewhat ashamed of it. haha. but what can i say i just put a 100 doller set of speakers in the back that were retting wet. had to do something. also got my new uz badge.

just drilled the holes and used some body washers with the factory bolts. i was hanging off the thing and bouncing and it didnt so much as move an inch.

on more thing off the never ending list. hahaha.

Thanks man. You live in Denver right?. If you want to ever have a look at it for a better insight or something. Because pictures don't ever capture everything. You can man. But the badge 85toyman pointed me to it. Got it off eBay. Just search 1UZ I think it was the second page.

I found it, thanks. I live in portland, oregon. I should have mine done here in a few weeks. Need to run exhaust, install cooling system, and finish up the motor mounts. And yeah i know, they really don't, it would be great to see it in person!
