alright did some work yesterday, took the old pistons off the rods, cleaned up the rods, cleaned up the cam, cleaned up the crank, cleaned the inside of the oil pan, cleaned up the rear main seal housing. hoping to clean more up this weekend, but hunting season and schoolwork has been getting in the way.

got some updates, first off i called a machine shop and im getting my head chaved .16 thousandths for $65 . but did alot of work yesterday, got the block and oil pan degreased, cleaned up the oil pump, painted oil pan, bagged up and organized all the bolts, and honed the cylinders. mom picked up some assembly lube and plastigage for me today. i have a question, is it necessary to plastigage it for the thrust washers?

Call Putney's, 86........ They sell them and, well, not to pick on LCE, but while they also have one, they're knowledge base just via the sales dudes(helpful as they are) is like night and day, if ya get my meaning? lol. 22reperformance.com and get the number and make it quick, just to avoid keeping them on the phone too long, ya know? Jim or Brother will let you know the limits on that, not try to sell you anything due to your sitch, etc., ya know? But if you need one, ....they've got that, too. Ya know? I thought it was 10thousandths in the 'limit' arena... but I'm just guessing, so I'm interested to see what they say.
XXXtreme had his shaved... but he'd have to stop by here and letcha know how much he shaved it..... and HE DOES have the adjustable timing gear, btw.

My buddy had 10thousandths taken off the block, not head... and he does NOT have the Adjustable timing gear... I was remembering a post he made where he put up a pic of it, saying, "woot, 22reperformance.com now has these ____" linking to the putney's adjustable gear.
He said he shaved it to increase compression as, well, boring out .20 over actually LOWERS compression from stock, ya know?
Best wishes, ...keep us updated!

Thought I told ya, Homie,......... "Call 22reperformance.com, talk to Jim or call engnbldr.com and talk to Tod..... they'll tell you in seconds. Just have all the specs for the entire motor handy(how much shaved off the head/deck, etc.)"..... right? lol. Give em a call, or send an email to Engnbldr Pops(Tod doesn't answer them very quickly, he's very busy... Another reason not to keep him on the phone, 'be prepared with your info', hahaha).. Tod's dad, Ted, is 'ted@engnbldr.com", pretty sure. Just go to the engnbldr.com site and look on the bottom left, 'contact info'.
Glad it's coming along, 86
