You WILL be MUCH more at ease doing so... Sorry it came to that though. My machinist welds stuff like that on aluminum all the time... Especially Plug threads and some other things as well(cam journal cap threads being TOAST/needing heli's that will stay put).... BUT, it might cost a bit if you're not friends with an aluminum welder, ya know?

Gonna grab a Top Line bare head and swap all your goodies over? What brand, etc?

my boss found one used that has been checked out good, gonna save this head and get it rebuilt, my machinist said that alot of people who do that on 22r's tap them out to 18mm and put a old ford plug like the one the old fe's have, so id be running the same plug that my ford uses

Don't have one, but saw one, today, at Pick-Your-Part. The whole engine was there, but by tomorrow, could likely be picked clean. First things to go(Diff's, Engine, Harness, Trans, Buttons/switches and connectors) Not necessarily in that order.

I might be back there, soon, and if one is there, I'll grab it. (SO UPDATE this page the second you get one, ok?)

I'm not EVEN trying to be a Debbie Downer here... More like a "Cautious Californian", hahaha... BUT;

Did you do the block and such according to all the specs for a '20r/22r'hybrid? I figure you have... Just making sure, cuz from what I remember... The stroke being different and head being meant for different pistons... there's some 'Deck' factors to consider, etc.

I WILL take a look for it next time I'm there, man... Already wrote it down on the list along with many others who've asked me to look for things, "like L-Trim", etc., lol.

Sorry, no go on the intake... Couldn't get away today, so I worked around here. Couple things I want... just can't seem to get away when I want, hahaha.

Sorry man.... Haven't been back, but asked a guy I know who WAS there, yesterday, to look..... It's gone. The WHOLE truck, not just the motor.

Great find. Hopefully nothing wrong too bad with the head.... Maybe take it into the school and do a valve job in a day, be done with it? Viton Seals, all new Valves, 50$. BUT, sure, it might not need anything but a valve grind?

Best wishes, man! Lemme know if you're still looking, ok? If I see one, I could call ya.... PM me your #, ok?

Have a good one...

PS> This weekend, it's 50% off sale, all weekend, on EVERYTHING! Might be grabbing some things, so please, lemme know if you want me to keep my eye out(soon as you know whether the head is any good), K?

well it runs, but to me it dont seem like it has the power it should. and i know the timing is off by the way it sometimes diesels when i shut it off. but i was driving it to a buddys farm tonight and it lost power and died, when i started it back up it pumped alot of blue smoke out the tail pipe, but never smoke since, anyone got any ideas? cam timing is perfect, distributor is not a tooth off, im thinkin something in my carb went tits up

Nice that you had the other 3rd! ...........

Not sure why it would lose power, especially since everything is new.. Sounds/seems to appear like fuel related. Gotta get the timing right though. And with a Hybrid.... not sure on the timing specs. "0* BTDC"? Or is it still 5*?
