Completely dead, yet clicking? Maybe you mean "too dead to 'turn over' "??? At under 11.25 V I think these wont start.(guys?)..... But, that's PLENTY to cause a TICK in lots of things that just need a complete circuit and whatever volts they demand, ya know? Sounds like a short, obviously(SOUNDS, s'all I said, lol).... And I would think that something involved in the series of 'relay', etc., between the key and STARTING has to be the problem, right? Maybe the COR is corroded out?(I doubt it, as that has to be in 'STA' position to pull voltage, right?) Maybe the Ignition System/switch is history? Was the clicking 'sporadic' or 'on time'?

Maybe go through the obvious culprits with a spare battery hooked up and see if you have any 'high' readings where you should have .001 or NA on the multi-meter????? Could even be one of your 'power' wires grounding out on something?

no i wasnt even turning the key, the key wasnt even in the ignition and it was clicking, it sounds like the blinkers but the blinkers werent on and the battery was too dead to have any lights come on.

Ok, let's think...............(I know, it's painful for me, but I'll try! hahaha)........

What is in there, next to the blinker assembly/arms, wiper assembly/arms, within the column?????? 2 Things, one less likely........

1. Hazards(maybe hit the button on accident and left it on??? Yet, it wont blink, just actuating in the relay/switch/whatever it is? lol)

2. Ignition Switch

I'm gonna hope and pray for #1, as that's a bit easier fix, eh? lol. I'll try to think some more, later, and I'll help you dig deeper... But that really HURT, so let me rest my nugget for a min! lol. JK, actually, let's check that first, then report back if your hazard button was depressed, k?

What about the "HAZARD" prospect? Not being rude, 86, nor condescending, promise... I've missed MUCH more silly things, ya know?

Far as the rest, yeah, I get that, but it's still, granting it's not the Hazard or something simple like that, ... still has a drain issue/possible short, right?

Why not leave that battery on and start testing at the ECU and other circuits, looking for what's pulling without the key in? I'd start with the IGN, NO DOUBT! (key doesn't have to be in to have a short, ya know? It's still wired, all day long, within the system to power, "switched power" or not.).... But test ALL "Switched" possibilities, k?(things that only receive voltage once the ignition is in AT LEAST "ACC" position.

Then again, .....could have just been a bad celled battery that was causing a 'click' in the column or dash somewhere due to too low of voltage. I've had MANY appliances/auto stuff's, etc., that have made weird 'clicks' or 'wheeeeeeeeeen' sounds when the power was dangerously low, ya know? Leave that battery in and test it every hour, careful not to let it drain too low, and in the interim, begin testing all those pertinent components/relays/switches, etc., yah?
