it'll crank and crank and crank but just wont start up. I took it out last night and just drove it around until it died. I have spark and fuel, I didn't have the tools to check compression.

However when I pulled the intake hose off it was filled with water and my intake was filled with steam. I am confused on this because I wasn't aware that there was a place in my intake that coolant came through other than the intake which isn't leaking any through that little in and out line under the throttlbody

Nice truck! Hope you get it running soon - would be a shame to lose it since it's an 85

curious...your buddy's black runner in that photo....how did he do the rear tire carrier? Custom or something he bought?

Well I'm 98% sure what my issues are wth the truck. I was getting coolant in my oil with was burning off and turning to steam which found its way into my intake manifold via a vacuum line causing the engine to stall out until it dried up. Did the head gasket and had the same problem so I figured I messed it up. Did it again with the same results. Frustrated I let it sit and just about gave up on the darn thing but went wheeling with a bunch of friends and decided I need to get it up and running. I think itd be the timing cover but I won't know until I get it completely off. I almost have it just that crank pulley left for tomorrow but for now it'll have to wait. Eventually I can build it instead of rebuilding it

figured I would let you guys know what is going on with the runner. just tore the engine down and resealed everything. headgasket, intake manifold, new timing cover, chain and guides blah blah blah.

Now I finally get to get back to mods and such. sliders and a rear bumper hopefully before the snow comes and then when I save enough regear with lockers. Just having problems deciding between 4.88s and 5.29s. i'm on 33's right now but im planning on going 35's next. the highest speed limit in town is 40 so i'm not to concerned about losing top end speed.

5.29s, save you a future regear if you go bigger again. That's my plan before i even get 35's. how's the elocker plan looking?

the E-locker plan is just that so far. A plan. between school and getting hours cut at work its a tad hard. but eventually. I'm turboing a guys integra so that'll hopefully get me the a good chunk of a locker or gears. we'll see.

did you get your carbs and everything all fixed up by ray?

Yeah, Ray put in a Weber for me, it needed one badly! That flexing looks pretty sick, congrats getting her back on the road. Did you ever wind up getting a locker? I was thinking about getting one when the money is right.

Everyone keeps telling me I need chains or a locker, but isn't that the point of 4wd? haha Are you going to that car club on campus on Wednesdays?

here are a few pictures for you guys. been looking for some shocks now, just have to wait until I find the right set up. I'm thinking shock hoops and some armor for the winter months and then wait until spring.

I did the amber bulb conversion for the dash lights. Looks sweet! Also found a nice set of shocks front and rear. Came out to like 70 bucks total for brand new shocks. Front measure out at 14" comp. And 25" ext. Rear is 15" compressed with 26 extended. All with lifetime warranties!

On another note went wheeling and decided smaller tires with a locker or gears and a locker would be pretty sweet. I have lots of stuff to fix/improve on
