Hello Cyberhorn... I wish I knew what brand of fender that was. It is a great quality fender. I was really impressed with it for being an aftermarket fender. Before seeing the sticker, I would of thought it was a factory fender. I like the O2 in the manifold myself. So much easier to replace. I will be replacing Mistys O2 sensor later this week and it us under the seat and in the pipe. It will be going to the exhaust shop for that. Mine I can just do the whole job myself.

I am hoping my exhaust nuts are going to be in at Toyota today when I get off of work. I also should be getting my O2 sensor in the mail as well so I can start getting the exhaust on the truck if all goes well.
I have all of the VSVs Toyota ever came out with except for the one that goes on the very back of the motor and it controls the Fuel Pressure Regulator. I checked a yard in Joplin and they had what was left of a 3rd Gen Runner, a Sequoia, and a T100 or Tundra not sure which it was. I checked an 82 and an 84 Celica and they use a different style. I will be at another yard later on and I know they will have one.
These trucks get stripped.

Hello Cyberhorn...I dont like seeing it too. I will say when this yard get thru with a truck, there isnt much at all going to waste. Last time I was there, they had an 92 two wheel extedned cab and a 2nd gen runner and they were stripped just as bad.

I went to Toyota and got some door clips. I pull the handles off when painting and never fails that they are so brittle that they break on me. My drivers door is broken and I get tired of reaching in and opening it from the inside. Below is the part numbers for the clips. Driver is 69293-10240 Passenger is 69293-12030. I did recieve the wrong exhaust nuts so will be going back to reorder them.
I got in late from work and had my O2 sensor sitting on the porch from UPS. Installing an O2 sensor on an 87 or older is a 5 minute job. Couldnt resist that. Exhaust pipe is bumping the frame and I will have them to heat and bend the pipe when I take it to have the rest of the exhaust done. I used the twin long pipes. I have another pipe that has the "Y" near the manifold. Hoping the longer factory pipe will give a few more horses.

I originally was going with a blue interior but since I now have gray SR5 door panels I am switching to gray. I had an old gray main dash support and it was faded and looked like it was bleached in some areas.
I picked up this Turbo gauge awhile back. It is just a temporary until I get the one that I do want. This one has the cross hatches in it and I dont care for these. These cross hatch ones, the speedometer needle is easy to break. The other style is easier to set the odometer on. Since I dont know the mileage of this truck, I am eventually going to set it to all zeros.
Got more done then it looks like. I remember seeing my 86 Runner and the 86 truck like this so there is still hope for this one.

Thanks Ed...It is slow progress but it will eventually happen. Things are slowing down to where I can get some time to work on it. Today we are to hit 100 and humidity makes it worse and that has already ran me out of the shop today.

I had to reapir my temp sender wire and had the Throttle Body off and needed to swap gaskets. One of the toughest over heating problems I dealt with was with a hole not punched into a head gasket. Ran into a similar problem today. A hole was not punched in the gasket.
Just took a nail and wallowed the hole out.
I used my AFM to test the 86 extra cab and when I put it on the 86 truck, it did not like it at all. I ran some test on it and it failed badly. There is a Dolphin Camper in the yard and it has 50k miles on it. Ran test on it and it passes all test great. I took it apart to make sure there is no dirt dobber nest in it and shined it up while having it apart.
Mark sent this VSV to me a while back. One I really needed. It controls the Fuel Pressure Regulator. This truck was having a hard time starting and when I get everything back together it should fire a lot more easier.
It helps to have an idea of where you are going to go with your project. I think I have found it. It will be tan like this one.
I had thought of this but Misty wants to do a truck in gray someday so will pass on this color, but I do like it.
Replaced the negative cable. The PO had this contraption on it.
I removed the rust magnet. The PO tried to seal up a leak and had sealant crammed everywhere. I cant let this truck set outside as it funnels all the water to the inside. I eventually will take it to the windshield shop and have the rubber seal installed. I will need to pull the windshield and get the channel all cleaned out.

LOL kornhuskerwizard....Maybe that is what the PO was going for or maybe he was going for a BBQ on wheels just waiting for that negative cable to slip and hit the positive side of the battery.
Hello Cyberhorn... I guess Toyotas get used for all kinds of experiments.lol

I am getting ready to start my days off for the week. I am hoping to get accomplished is to have the truck moving under its own power to at least be able to move it in and out of the shop by the time I go back to work in two days.
I need to
Install drive shaft.
Install the dash
Add more fuel to the tank. Fuel filter is barely sitting in fuel.
Install a seat
Hope brakes and clutch work halfway descent, both resivoirs are dry and who knows if they work. At least the clutch, I can do with out brakes for now.
I will be getting a complete heater control assembly at the boneyard in a few hours.
Get some tires that hold air.
Finish getting the battery mounted the way that it should be.
May not sound like much but getting the dash all back to the way will take quite a bit of time. I have been getting all vacuum hoses replaced and connected like they should be and small detail things under the hood. If I get hung up on something, I plan on start doing some body work. Hoping I have a good two days worth of work and some big steps made on it by the time I go back to work.
I may have found replacement fuel floats>>> http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/sk...nk&CID=2470763

Thanks kornhuskerwizard...It is going to be nice when and if I get done with it. Just hit a hang up. Will explain below.
Thanks sr5excab... My 86 Runner and this truck are my last for me. I will always have some kind of project, but these are going to be my daily drivers and they can bury me in one of them.

I hit a snag already. The injector harness I have now for some reason is wired different the from the one I have. I knew I should of gotten the injector harness when I got the main harness. From now on I will grab the entire harness. I am waiting for the salvage yard to call me back to tell me if he still has it.
The wiper plug is different on this harness then what I should have.
One problem that I knew I would run into is 85/86 use more round plugs. I could swap wiper motors but would rather just slice the wires togther. Getting the wiper motor back in time as been a pain for me in the past.

That windshield looks about like mine. There is no rubber seal at all on it. The PO crammed all kinds of sealant into it and set the glass on it. Leaks like a faucet in the rain. I have tried to remedy it by adding some of my own sealant, but its like trying to cover up a turd by putting another turd on top of it.
I am still not even sure where to get the factory seal for it. And I am dreading having to clean out all the sealant.
