Once the c-clip is removed yo can pull the indicator... make sure the dial is in the free position, on the backside you can see a notch where the ball bearing will pop out (red arrows) Be careful they can launch themselves...
Green arrow indicates the o-ring which you should be replacing if you are going to do a rebuild.

that is it for the break down on the hub face
Now removing the hub body...
Remove the nuts, lock washers, & cone washers. Gently tapping the hub body with a dead blow knocked all the cone washers loose.

Here is a picture of the clutch assembly and roughly how it goes together... it had come apart and I had to remove it in pieces from inside the hub body.

^x2... nice to have access to steam cleaners and media blasters...
also shows what can happen when you skip using the proper gaskets and try to make your own...
did you put the parts in the oven for a while after painting to bake or just air dry?...
one previous rebuilder mentioned that he added a coat (or 2?) of clearcoat for additional protection after he polished the raised arrows/letters to remove the paint from those surfaces...

things are looking great on your truck!
I spent the day cutting out a similar area as yours on my driver side floorboard on my new 82. I just bought a Miller 180 and we shall see how welding that thin floor metal will go. Soon it might be time for a tig
Keep up the great work!
