Hi,
I am looking for 2 endcaps for the 3rd gen roof rack rails (see picture). I only need 2, but would buy 4 if that works better for seller. I need the two that are opposite from each other. So either two from the same side of vehicle, or two from the same end (front or back) of the vehicle.

i had to buy one the other day. it was 15.00 at toyota. wile i dont beleive in the stealerships ways, i was frustrated trying to track em down for a wilke.

 

That's interesting... I called the dealership this AM and they told me they don't sell the end caps separately, they only come with the entire rack!!! You wouldn't happen to have the part number for the endcaps, would you?

I just called the dealer in the first place b/c I was thinking the same thing, its probably going to be a pain to try to find someone willing to sell just a couple endcaps.

Actually, I might not really need the p/n. Its probably stamped into the backside of the 2 caps I already have... but if you happen to have it handy, it would save me from having to remove the ones that are already installed on the rack.

 

sorry, i could not find the part number. i just went into the dealership, they brought up the diagram of the rack, and i pointed at it. if i were you id walk in and talk to them. they usually tell you one thing on the phone but will act differently in person

 

Ive just learned to live without one end cap. If someone finds a part number, I might have to buy one though.

Greg... Here are the part numbers:
00278-35967 <= left front/right rear
00278-35968 <= right front/left rear

I think those descriptions are correct, but I might have them mixed up.

 

oh, and I think the price I got for them was around $12.50 each. Pretty steep for what it is, but I guess I'll bite the bullet.

I've had one floating around my vehicle for 3 years now. Never got around to installing it yet. I guess the missing cap isn't bugging me that much yet.

After I bought it from toyota for $25Cad, I've seen them several times at junkyards. They just lay around when the vehicles has been rolled and the roofrack has been damaged.
