1985 Toyota 4x4 22RE Xtra Cab; SOLD!
Clean Georgia Title.

Drives great! Looks great! I alternate between this and my 4Runner as my daily driver. I would not hesitate to drive this across the country (again)!
In the past 7 years, I have driven this three times Coast to Coast
Seattle, WA to Savannah, GA
Savannah, GA to Los Angeles, CA
Los Angeles, CA to Savannah, GA
This was registered in California in the past 5 years, passing emissions easily back then. I have added the LCE head and header since then, but they retained all sensors, so I wouldn’t anticipate any issues with emissions. However, my county does not require emissions, so I can’t say for sure. All I am saying is that it has passed emissions recently, and that no emission equipment has been removed or altered since.
THE GOOD:
- 22RE & Solid Front Axle (what more do I have to say!)
- Extra Cab
- Toyota e-Locker Rear
- Aussie Locker Front
- 4.7:1 Low T-Case Gears (Marlin Crawler)
- 320K miles, engine rebuilt by Toyota dealership at 200K
- LCE head and header
- 5 speed Manual
- Unmolested stock suspension
- Cruise control
- Intermittent wipers
- Rear window defrost
- SR5 reclining bucket seats (3-way lumbar adjustment for driver’s seat)
- JVC Stereo, 4 speakers
- Power windows
- Power antenna (Great for off-road!)
- Moon roof
- Bed cargo light
- Bed-liner
- Axe and shovel bed clips
- 2” hitch receiver (super strong, frame mounted)
- Front Bumper Winch mount (Trail Gear)
- Aisin manual SFA hubs
- New Rear axles and Bearings
- 1.5” wheel spacers (4)
- … much more, will list soon
THE BAD:
I retrofitted A/C, but I have never gotten it to work yet.
On really hot days and engine has been shutdown for 30-60 min, it occasionally stutters during the first restart. But after the initial stutter, it starts up just fine.
THE UGLY:
Some rust on the rear fender wells and bed seams, also tailgate hinge
Left side of rear bumper slightly bent (caught on stump on a tight trail)
Hood, grill, radiator and front bumper are aftermarket replacements. This was due to a low speed, front-end impact, but unfortunately it had a flimsy brush guard (a.k.a. “damage multiplier”) installed at the time.
Upper windshield trim piece missing (purely cosmetic, windshield is glued in)
Some paint fade/peeling in the roof.
Drivers side window tint is “wavy”.
