1989 4Runner SAS 37's TBI Chevy 350 CLEAN! TAKING OFFERS TRADES? $7500
Well I have finally broken down, and decided to sell my street queen, just dont drive it much anymore OVER 25k!! invested!! It is a VERY CLEAN 1989 4runner(I wanted to find the CLEANEST/Last year 1st gen), it has a 1985 4runner Front Axle(All new marlin seals, dont leak!) SAS with 5.29 Yukon Gears, and welded spider gears(lincoln locked) differential skid plate, Marlin High Steer. Rear has detroit locker with Yukon 5.29's. It has a 1988 Chevy 350 Fuel injected TBI engine, no leaks, does not smoke at all, the engine is stock with the exception of chrome valve covers, new oil pan, coated block hugger headers, and K&N filter. NEW aluminum BIG 2 Row radiator, with 2 big pusher electric fans on the front of it. It has TRUE dual 2.5" exhaust(no cats, so not smog legal), I have 2 high flow cats I will include for free if you want to install them, also has 2 2.5" 40 Series Flowmaster mufflers too, SOUNDS MEAN! The trans is the stock V6 Trans with brand new flywheel, and centerforce dual friction clutch, stock v6 single Tcase. This truck has the desired Grey interior, interior is practically flawless. I added the Altimeter / Clinometer. New windshield. The top has never been off. New white paint job(original color). it has BURLY front and rear bumpers, the rear has a swing away tire carrier(with spare mounted) BOTH have 2" Receivers for Receiver mounted winch(winch not included) 4 ALMOST new 37x12.5x15" Goodyear Wrangler MTR's mounted on 15x10 Chrome steel wheels. Sunroof. BEEFY Homemade Square Tube Sliders. Optima Yellow Top Battery.
Now for the bad:
I took it out wheeling once after the 350, and snapped both birfields, so I just took the broken birfs/axles out on the trail, and never put anything back in the front axle, so it will need longfields.
No AC(had it originally, but not with the 350, could be easily adapted)
There is something wrong with the Trans, having a hard time shifting, I think that the slave cylinder needs bleeding, will have that issue FULLY fixed prior to sale, whether it be a bled slave cylinder, new slave cylinder, or another tranny.
It has a sunroof, but leaks a little, it is missing a piece that latches it, once you get the sunroof parts it wont leak.
Sometimes it idles a little low, so I think the Throttle body needs a little adjustment.
I think there was a dent on the passenger side, about 8 inches(on the bed area), if you look down the body line, you can see a spot about that size that looks a little wavy from body putty(you REALLY have to look for it though)
Other than that, everything else works, and is in great shape!
NO RUST!, not all dented up either THIS IS A GARAGED TRUCK, only been offroad a few times since buildup, no hard trails! I WAS TOO SCARED TO SCRATCH IT HAHA, IT IS DEFINATLY A HEAD TURNER! CLEAN TITLE!
Very Stable on the highway, will cruise at 85
VERY Flexy for leaves!
Originally was a 3.Slow V6

I would be interested in trades!, I am looking for a clean Extended cab Tacoma TRD, OR a partial trade for a Clean 2nd gen Extended Cab 4x4 truck(1984-1988). Also Partial trade towards 2000 or newer popup pull behind camper(small).

Only thing missing is the catalytic converters, I have them, just not installed, I am really looking for a TRD xcab tacoma, or a 1984-1988 4x4 toyota xcab truck in good shape, unfortunately, my sportbike days are long gone...

I can't believe nobody wanted this. Perhaps with a few fixes it would have gathered more interest. I know I kept watching it and I already have an '85 4Runner.
Now that you are parting it out, what are you asking for the rear bumper setup? Would that receiver part on it cut off pretty easily? Does it bolt right to the frame or were there mods made to make it fit?
Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Well the engine is sold, I am using the doors, and all the suspension on my truck I bought, what is left is the body(minus doors), 90% of the interior, rear swingout bumper, and misc parts

ok i have a few questions. my brother-in-law and i are part owners in a 1994 4-runner. we have been all the way through the engine and still it will not run. a complete rebuild. i think that it has to be something simple but he is convinced that it would be better to put in a chevy engine because that is what we both work on. is there any adapters available? any conversion kits? how did you do it? keep in mind we are going with v6 not 350. thanks for any and all info!
