Toyo Open Country A/T vs. Wild Country XTX?
Hi all. I'm looking to purchase some new tires and I'm interested in either Toyo Open Country A/T's or the Wild Country XTX Sports. I haven't found much about the Wild Country and wanted to get opinions on which which is a better value. I've heard the lifespan of both of these tires rarely reaches the warranty mileage. Any experience with these?

I have the xtx on my 4 runner in 31x10.5. Can't speak for mileage, only had them a few months. They do pretty good offroad. I don't drive in mud if i can help it. But i have been in some mud, if you keep them spinning they do good.

Had the Toyos, enjoyed them at first, but then grew to loathe them. They are terrible in the rain. Scary to drive; I spun the truck several times in light rain while making left hand turns over the course of the year I had them.
Decent off road, OK in the snow and fairly quiet. But the wet weather performance is appalling and dangerous.
I thouroughly recommend Yokohama Geolandar AT-S. Best tire I've ever used out of nearly a dozen. Works perfect for my 70% road 30% dirt driving. Really impressive in adverse conditions, stable and quiet on the road and really good off road, which you wouldn't think given the conservative tread pattern. Well priced, too. This is the only tire I would consider buying again, though I haven't tried Revos yet.

Really old post... But I've been running the Wild Country XTX on my Durango since June 2010. Approx 20,000 miles. The wear is good. Quiet. Excellent traction on dry pavement. Good traction on wet pavement. OK traction on snow/ice. It would be better if I didn't have so much power, or if the freakin ABS worked... I love them.
