i know on an 89 4runner with no lift you can run 33x14.50s thornbirds on 15x10 wheels with no lift and minimal rubbing

I never put up my reply on how things worked out. My 31x10.5x50 Dextero's do not rub one bit. . So to make a long story short everything works great!!!

Probably will fit, although it depends on the backspacing or offset of the wheels. Might geta little rubbing at the back of the front wheel wells:

4.88 gears would be a nice upgrade but folks have run stock gearing with 33s, YMMV:

GUYS I HAVE AN 85 4RUNNER 22R STOCK 3" LIFT .... WHAT TIRE SIZE SHOULD I USE? I HAVE 15" WHEELS AND WAS THINKING ABOUT KEEPING THOSE ... I AM THINKING ABOUT ADDING 33 x 12.50 R15 OR SHOULD I USE SOMETHING ELSE. JUST WORRIED THAT THE ENGINE AND TRANS WILL BE ABLE TO TURN THE WHEELS WITHOUT DYING ON ME...... SUGGESTIONS ?????????????

I will be lifting my truck about 1.5" prior to this install. Am I going to need wheel spacers due to the difference in backspacing or will I be okay? Thanks for accomodating my late night laziness.
05+ Tacomas have wheels with greater backspacing; I believe it's ~5.
That means your tires will be sunk in further into the wheel wells & will rub the control arms & body! 1.25" spacers should solve the issue though, just be warned; they're not cheap!

I was considering tacoma alloy sport wheels for my runner but I came across that ^ information so i turned them down. It was a good deal though $100 for new takeoffs.

Turn your caps off, reads like your yelling...

33s are a good choice for size, and youll want to think about re gearing.

Ive seen a 2011 with 265/65r18's and 18x9's with a 4.5" backspacing. Didnt look all that bad, they were a street tire, woulda looked better a little more aggresive. He works with me, might be able to snap a shot if it for you

So I can't seem to find the info I'm looking for. I'm trying to see if I can squeeze 285/75-16's under a 99 Toyota 4runner highlander. Right now I'm currently running 265/75-16 hancook dyno pro's on xd hoss wheels 16-8 with 4 inch back space. I have tons of room under here and are about 2 inches away from control arms. I don't mind doing some trimming and minor banging. Just want to see what everyone think? Just want to ask around before hand. Thanks.

I've got a 2wd 1994 pickup and I was hoping to swap the wheels and tires for some 235/70/R16 off of a ford ranger. They are the correct lug pattern, I just don't know if they will fit my wheel wells and fit over the hubs properly. Anybody know?
