Steve,
When you say plastic endcaps, which part of the tire are you refering to? Not the center caps, which on my Tech1's were chrome and too ugly to install anyways?

The ones I saw did. Get what you want folks, the bottom line is I really don't care.

I have no rear center caps, but my front hubs, Aisin, have taken rock rash and they don't stick out very far.
Jeff's steel center are completely trashed.
If you wheel it, the rims will take a beating. For me, that means running a steel wheel that I don't feel bad about beating. I would cry if I had those pretty MT's under my truck.
My black steel Eaton's don't need to be polished, don't need a special wax and can be fixed with some sandpaper and a paint pen. They work for me, on my truck for the wheeling that I do. When the time comes for new wheels, they too will likely be black and steel unless they are holding 37's.

I didn't realize the MT center caps stuck out so much. Did you slide sideways into something or do they actually stick out far enough to get ripped off while you were moving straight?

They do stick out quite a bit, but not much different than any other brand that has them. I actually don't like how they stick out so much, not necessarily for wheelin' purposes, but just think it looks kind of tacky in general. I have yet to see how they look without them, with just the black space there.
Rock gardens will do this to ya! No, chances are, you can't kill a cap just by going in a straight line. I probably did everything else though as far as sliding into other rocks, like you said, and what not. You can't really see it on the above picture, but that wheel got filed down pretty good. The outer edge and then that next outer rim are shaved and scarred the whole way around. I'm just trying to cut down on the trail weight. You can't tell me these wheels are just for show, not mine anyway. They get some work days thrown their way.

(In response to Cebby's post he has since removed: ) They are, in fact, plastic. You already have them in possession, though? Classic II's? Hmm.
Edit: Mine are metal. All of them now even have rust on the rock rash areas. I guess I couldn't remember when I originally wrote this. I think it was the chrome, plastic type coating that I remembered that threw me off.
