Question Khomo mts or Cavalier Mud King ???

Ok I need some input on these tires. I can buy the Cavalier Mud Kings for 119.00 per tire installed (32x11.50x15 ) or I can get the Khomo mts for about $122.00 per tire but this does not include mounting or balancing.

What are your opinions on these brands?
Anyone running these ?
Or should I save about 100.00 more and get the BFG MT's ?

Thanks

Where are you shopping? You can buy real name brands for less than that at America's Tire for instance, or get a "house brand" at Walmart for well under 100 per installed. Shop around.

Oh, and Kuhmo's are great tires, no worries. WTHeck is a "Cavalier"?

Read the very positive reviews of the Kumho MT's compared to other popular MT tires here -
Tire Rack reviews

They have 32's available for $105, the cheapest I've seen -

I've heard lots of good things about the Kumho's... See if a place that carries them will match prices you found on the internet.

I've had Kuhmo MTs and quite a few Kuhmo street tires on cars, nothing but good things to say about them.

Tire are gettin' too #$%^& expensive - in the past year prices have gone insane! The tire flyer I have from Walmart has 4 different 32s for under 100, one of em is that BFG Land Terrain. Their house brand Liberator is $88 for 32x11.50 but it's an AT tread. No Mud Terrains for under 100.

I've had 2 sets of mud kings with no problems. Good tires, keep them rotated and they are one of the quieter mud tires out there.

I don't have any 1st hand w/ the Kumho, but the Cavalier has been around for a long time under different names.(Chapparell, Sport King, American Prospector, Regul Trailblazer, and a couple others)
They are built by Michelin(BFG) and are a pretty good tire fo the $$.
DO NOT expect them to be quiet on the road though.

For $100 more, I would wait on the BFG's.

I also had very good luck out of the Buckshot Maxxis Mudders on my Wrangler.
Very quiet, yet plenty of grip for the loose stuff (and good road manners).

dragr1,
Do you remember the tread life you got out of them?

Some say they are loud and others say they are quiet. I guess it all depends on rotating them so there are no cupping???

Thanks for the info.

I am not positive but I was told that Cavalier got bought out by Trivant. I am getting the tires from t3 tires and they are advertised as Trivant Mud kings (house brand ) . I will post up my first impressions of them when I get them. Out the door for 4 32X11.50-15 $515.00 .

several different brands produce the same tire, much like les schwab's wild country tires are known under different names in other regions. i've also seen them as "phantom" mud kings.

Some people on here will doubt me, but through 2 sets of 285/75/16 Mud King XT's on a 2000 Z-71 reg cab I got 70,000 out of one set and 75,000 out of the other. Now, this is partly because I run them at 55 psi and rotate them frequently and I also put the miles on there fast-60k a year. Mine were never noisy at all, but remember the same tire will always be noisier in an SUV than a pickup b/c in an SUV all 4 wheelwells emit noise into the cabin instead of only 2 like on a truck.

I also had one set of Sport King's on my '94 Z-71 and I hated them, they were very noisy. These were at's and not mt's, but something about the tread design was much noisier than the mt tread on the Mud Kings.
